Default Fargo: The movie

Fargo's on Bravo right now (plus I own it) - like the 15th time I've watch it. This is the movie that gave me a preview of what ND is like before I moved here - yeah, the movie is pretty much exactly how it really is this time of year hehe.

I've always wanted to go to the "King Of Clubs" bar in Minneapolis that's in the opening scenes (even though the movie said it was in Fargo) - the bar is still there.

Wow, that was actually a pretty good movie. The accent was quite nausiating though. I almost, almost, just about lost my mind.

I wasnt impressed with the little e-brake slide with the cutlass in the parking garage. He should have slid it around the corner on the upper part of the garage that was covered in snow too.

But yeah, I might have to go buy that movie now I thought it was so good. Or, if nothing else, show everyone back home what my world is all about up here. haha

Haha...I ended up watching it last night as well. The only dissapointing thing was the commercials and edits for television. Although I've rented Fargo once before, I actually think I might go buy it today when I go to Boston...real darn tootin'.

That's why I cant stand to watch movies on TV. They chop them up to stick in the commercials and ruin the movie.

The accent is downright hilarious in that movie. They really do exaggerate it, but it's funnier than hell, though it can get annoying at times. I think it's more of a comedy movie more than anything else. Funny part is that it doesn't even take place in Fargo. It takes place in the middle-of-nowhere Minnesota or something. What was it? Like Brainerd or something?

Yeah - in the movie plot Fargo "was in the opening scene" then Minneapolis and Brainerd areas for the rest of the movie.

In reality, because there wasn't very much snow on the ground in March in Minnesota they filmed the opening car scene and barren road scenes 10 miles north of Grand Forks. The rest of the movie was filmed in Minneapolis, including part of the opening scene of the "King of Clubs" bar...which in the movie was supposed to be Fargo, but the bar is actually physically in Minneapolis.

The majority of it was filmed in Brainerd, it's actually a badass little town. LOTS of money there, especailly in the summer. 2, 3 million dollar lake homes everywhere. Probably some of the best golf in the entire state as well, if your in town for the summer it's worth the drive out there for a weekend.

HAHA! Not so sure about that. I have been to so many places around the country that claim they are home to Paul Bunyan. I don't know who to believe! Nonetheless, he is always standing there with his blue ox and ax...

Wow, that list is pretty complete - except there is another place in northwestern California somewhere in the redwood forests that has another 50 foot high statue of Paul Bunyan...and makes the "home of Paul Bunyan" claim.

It's there...I've been to that one as well. It is the one in Klamath.
