Hehe, you might need a ladder. You should ask the janitors to help you with that. They're bored doing their daily chores anyway. They might be up for the challenge.

"It's the same as jack"

I know what Jack means. Never heard Nick. Doubt the kids at the Y have, either, but I'll be sure to ask. I'll get back to ya on that.

One last question. If you're gonna steal something. Is it a wise idea to post about it at an internet message forum? I mean, someone might know who you are and if a projector comes up missing, even if you didn't "nick" it, you would be a prime suspect. Some things are better left for PM's.

To "nick" something is British slang--probably why you haven't heard it before, Don.

"In The Nick" = To be incarcerated, in jail.

At least according to Rumpole of the Bailey!

Hey...yes. I am either getting the $750 InFocus 4805 OR a CRT projector (Sony, NEC, or Barco). I'm leaning more towards the CRT projector because it can be had at a cheaper price used, is MUCH clearer than a DLP (like the InFocus), doesn't have the screen door effect, bubls last a whole lot longer, shows black/dark images more accurately (rather than a dark gray), etc. The ONLY downside to CRT's is they are VERY VERY VERY heavy...I mean VERY heavy. About 300 lbs depending on the projector.

I am waiting a little bit for some good eBay finds in the local area for used CRT's. The problem is CRT PJ's need to be shipped via freight due to their size and weight, which costs approximately $300-500 depending on where it gets shipped from, so you might as well just find one local. I am waiting to see if there is someone in Fargo or Minneapolis area with a used CRT for sale. I'm hanging out on the Audio/Video Science Forum (www.avsforum.com) for this too.

I have a home theater system I've been building for the past 7 years. Slowly but surely as I save up more money (because this ##### is expensive) I buy another component. My next buy after the projector will be Bowers & Wilkins speakers for the front mains...god those things can get expensive. I'm basically turning my living room into a home theater...with velvet home theater curtains, movie posters, and all (to make it look like a traditional movie theater).

That's hilarious. That reminds of Austin Powers and his father talking that way. We need subtitles here!

HOLY ...cow....

THAT was cool..

oh yeah.. ummm keep in mind that even if you get in trouble in college - it'll probably stay on your record and if you go for a flying job, you'd have to explain that little stain...so ask yourself if it's really worth it first mmmkay?!

Why not have one in your flat? Get them fit lasses over, fish and chips, a game of football, or perhaps a cup of tea, and if I do get in Barney Rubble, why it's not all gone Pete Tong. I'll just take my mates rubber and take it off my records.

Oh btw Jace, I want to check out that home theater of yours..crt huh.. I hear those things are amazingly costly though, yeah and heavy, and lumens are less, but the best for quality as you say.

*caughs changing accent*

Why, we might as well go driving mate, take a turn from the round about, nip a right, watch the zebra crossing, oh and don't forget traffic is from the left. (Was fun over the break driving on the left @ home in Cyprus)

Yeah you gotta come by soon... have a crappy TV for home theater (20" (!!!) Sony Wega, way too small)... but the rest of the set up is decent. I spent so much money on the front speakers and subwoofer (Energy e:XL-S10) that I didn't have enough for the rear surrounds... so I have some really cheap-crap Sony bookshelfs for the rears. They really do sound like garbage from an audiophile perspective.
