I enjoyed my Hypoxia lab I had today, I want to do it again, maybe I will put a bag over my head

Definitley was a good experience though.

I always thought hypoxia training in ND, where I never went over 9500' was kind of funny. Around here that's barely 3500 MSL

It was the first chamber flight, even though the original was weeks ago, this was a make up one, and you can't take next one untill you do the first one, but I took the rapid decompression flight earlier, which I was not supposed to, and oh well no one stopped me. YEAH SHAVE before you go.. thats why I missed the first one. My mask did not seal. So I had to be out. AND if you miss one, it will snowball up.. so try to get it done. or sneak in the other labs..

But yeah I enjoyed my experience, I did the fit the shape in the right hole thing. FUN.

I took flight phys over the summer and I volunteered to give up my seat so that a few of the corperate guys could go and fly. When I ended up going in the chamber I had a sinus infection and was grounded from the other two flights (1 chamber and 1 RD). I have just reciently finished my chamber flights. It was a good experience though.

I agree, it was a very good experience. I only lasted 4 minutes at 25,000ft .

I live in Grand Forks and in the last two weeks I have been up at FL430 several diffferent legs.

I guess that training wasn't worth it though.....

Certainly not because you needed to.

Around here I NEED to go up above 12,5 to avoid becomming a smoking hole, THAT is the point.

No, I understand your point. We don't have squat for terrain in the valley. But understand that even though I did the chamber over 2 years ago, I still know how I felt when off the mask at FL250. I know you know this, but jets don't go very far when at lower altitudes The one I was flying, the engines burn around 1500 pph in the mid 20's but at FL430, I saw 780 pph just below overspeed. That is double, so if you fly low, you cut your range in half.

I'm glad I did the altitude chamber. It was quite cheap in comparison to the rest of my training here at UND.

I've long forgotten most anything of use from flight phys and human factors, guess that's the way it goes.

What are you flying? Sounds like a slotation.

I personally like the training a lot, the chamber flight was a good, I lasted really really long, and I was expecting to drop to the floor before I got in.. but we all learn how we are.. funny thing was my symptoms remain after I put the mask on for a while, even though my face turned pink. I never thought I would be blue too but I guess I am white enough.

I wish the power points are available to download for these classes, it sucks because I would like to go over human factors, I thought it was interesting. I guess what we remember is it.

Unfortunatley his power points are not, he makes study guides that are downloadable. I think the essence is in the power points though.

huh, that's strange.

I took human factors from him pre-learn system and he handed out an outline view of his slides to the class, already printed. Very cool.
