| I definetly second the suggestion to talk cars! But then I'll be on the car lounge and this forum ALL DAY. ![]() Any of you guys on the car lounge? Its probably the best auto forum on the net if you can look past all the euro badge #####s that irrationally bash domestics and japanese cars with no knowledge what soever. VW r32tt golf vs 06 zo6 vette for example. Yeah it gets that bad on there sometimes. But if you can ignore that crap, its a really good forum. Im the one with the really dumb SN undpilot757.

I check out the Car Lounge every once in a while... also Speed Arena (www.speedarena.com) has some good motorsports coverage outside of the world of NASCRAP. And yes... people with the R32's are REALLY deeply proud of their car...even the ones with the GTI's. You cannot say that the Golf platform isn't a decent front wheel drive car for what it is...but then again, why am I saying a front wheel drive car is DECENT when there's rear-wheel drive? (in terms of overall track performance/handling capability).

| I've been to bimmerforums occasionally when I was thinking of getting an e30 318is. I liked those forums for the most part. For specific chassis I liked e30tech.com and e36tech.com a little better. Yeah, I DO like the gti gli and r32 golf. But there are cars that are better and when I see guys that dont admit it, it makes me never to want to own one of those cars and get in with that crowd. I'd probably be the only guy you've ever seen putting down his own car all the time. hehe For the most part I sense thecarlouge is getting better. There's more people in there that are fans of domestics, jdm, and others. So its not mostly exclusive to the euro enthusiaths anymore. That or I've become numb to the idiots.

| I've always wanted a VR4 corrado, but I've already got one VAG headache. I think my next project will be a 5 liter V8 miata, my last was a chevy 350 FC RX7 and before that a 250rwhp turbo miata, before that another FC RX7 turbo II I rebuilt, I get sick of them in a hurry ![]() |

| speaking of UND, you could build a nice little forum, register undforum.com or something retarded like that, do a little advertising on campus, wouldn't be a bad deal. Get happy harry's to advirtise with you... ![]() I see some guy in GFK started flightinstructingjobs.com, lucky bastard, I should have thought of it first. |

If you're gona throw a v-8 in anything but dont want to upset the handling, or improve it in most cases, the ls engine is the way to go. Im impressed with your previous experiance. My only experiance in modification is making an s10 blazer handle as good as a pontiac gtp(which is no slouch by the way regardless of its name). I've always had a v-8 swap in my mind for that thing. But now I have a 67 cougar(the only REAL cougars) to restore, so that will be delayed. There, we have a good car discussion going. ![]()

| even the LS1 is negligable in the FD. Rotaries are a bit heavier than the rotards would lead you to belive, the whole "keg" is essentially cast iron... the effects on handling are not noticeable.. but it makes the car a pleasure to drive. Maybe some day I'll build an LS1 FD, but I'm tired of projects and it's winter, I need to park both cars in the garage, can't leave the A4 out in the cold ![]() I put a gen I small block in my FC, mostly because I got the shell + the mounts + the car cheap, it was a HELL of a lot more work than a nice, complete, LS1 drop in. I sold it because I couldn't get it through emissions here, they kid at the DMV actually knew the difference between a rotary and a damn SBC350, I was actually surprised. I still run a small forum for turbo miatas, I don't know of anyone else on my forum pushing over 250rwhp on stock internals, that's a bit much ![]() |

| So Im not as lazy as I thought. ![]() It looks so happy in there. All the ls swaps I've seen, they look happy in every engine bay. Probably because they fill it! ![]()

right buddy, give me a call when you see someone swapping a 13BT in place of an LS1 (and I even hate domestics) There was a nice 10th AE FC for sale in GFK awhile ago with a blown rotary though, would make a nice swap candidate. Next swap I do will be an auto, OMG the clutch hydraulics were a pain on that car, three different setups...

| Senior Member | Sweetness, cars, who doesn't love them. We use them to drive to the airport. Trying to keep my two cents of aviation in there. Yeah I love the roadfly forums, and also the www.bmwe34.net website. Mainly because it is the most appealing when you own an e34 that needs frequent repairs. Coming to rice.. yeah I have seen really good Japanese cars, but I hate the whole Too Fast Too Ugly theme people have been doing to the cars. Knock of the fart cans, and ugly decals and ridicilous spoilers. Every car make has its culture I guess. But I never have been a fan of the fart can culture. However on the other hand I always valued people who were into rennovating their cars. Or people who have decked out their ride and gave it a more deep look than it was. |

the LS1 does not "fit" as he had to cut and remake the firewall, far too much custom fab work for my blood when the 5.0 will fit right in much easier, and with those tiny rear wheels... you think the extra power is going tog et put to use? Save the LS1 for an FD RX7. though I can't tell if that's an RHD car or if the wheel is just sitting there, the bay appears to be LHD...

| I was wondering if he had to do anything to get that in there. Its a pretty big pain in the butt just getting an ls1 in an s10! Looks to me like its LHD since the brake booster is over there. I also have pics of an ls1 being swapped into a miata!!!!!!!! Yeah this guy has a death wish, or doesnt like tires. I cant imagine ever getting traction, EVER. Even if you let the clutch out slowly, I just see it going errrrrrrrrrrRRRRRRRRRRR!!!! ![]() Definetly stick the pushrod v-8s. I doubt you could even fit an OHC v-6 in anything with a smaller engine bay. I have a pretty appalling picture of the old ford 4.6 and the new over-head-cam 4.6. Im curious how much the handling of the mustang is suffering because of that thing. I dont know why so many people bash pushrod engines so much. Ignorance mostly I guess. If an engine is in the "v" configuration, give me push rods anyday.

| Holy mother of god. How the hell did they get that in there!? That was one reason I suggensted to stick to the pushrod engines, smaller and lighter. I would love to read up on that swap. The more rediculous the better I think.

| Since we're on the topic of engine swaps, how about a "350i" ![]() This baby has a 750i engine with an 850CSi 6-speed manual. An engine that already has a huge amount of torque as it is... then put it in a light E30 chassis! It's amazing how they made it fit: ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |

| Senior Member | YES now we are talking, SHE IS HOT!! Do you know the stats on its quarter mile and 0 - 60 times? MAN would I want to take that for a spin.. Very cleanly done, I like it, looks original and fast. Yet I think the s38 engine would suit it better. Still though it is surprising to open a hood and show this beast in a little car! P.S. One thing that worries me though is the cooling on that thing though.. just from bad experiences with mine. |
