Yeah, I know.

They are pretty sweet though. Especially with glasspacks. Ooooh, so nice. But I think my favorite bike is either the R6 or honda cbr1000(yeah, I have a death wish ) as far a new motorcycles go.

I only like the R6 over the R1 because it accelerates a little faster from being a little lighter. Im not too much of a top speed guy with motorcycles. Nowhere to really top one out, and if you fall off you're probably going to get your butt chewed off.

I've never looked it up myself, which is pretty bad, but I've just always been told the R6 is faster on the 1/4, but the R1 will smoke it in topspeed.

No. Not with a good rider. Not a chance.

Now, around a tight road course maybe, because the 6's corner entry speed will be higher, but the R1 can make it up on the straights if they're long enough, but honestly the weight difference is so little it's not going to be much of a difference.

Oh yeah!! The gruppe B rally version is friggen awsome. Im curious to how hard it is to aquire on of those cars. Probably wont be able afford it, so nevermind.

I personally like these the most even though that audi would eat it alive:

Ford RS200(holy wheel gaps batman!)

They're kinda heavey compared to the lancia 037 and peugeot(whatever there's was) though.

Philip. Agreed. I almost bought a 1991 Audi Coupe Quattro from some guy in Minneapolis. It had a few problems with it, so I elected to not buy it.

I am interested in either an old Audi Quattro, 1988-1991 BMW 325ix (all-wheel-drive), or some old Subie. Need a winter car that I can autocross on the ice-tracks in Minnesota!

I guess I was thinking of the 81-83 quattros.

These are the ones that are hard to find. None of us would be buying one I dont think. Seems to me though, the later ones would go for just as much. I've never seen one in person so they seem just as rare as the older ones to me.

I think the one thats Philip posted looks better.

the one I posted is a URQ, which is a little harder to find over just a coupe GT

I wonder how a type 44 audi would do in the ice tracks, they're big and heavy, but incredbile traction. The original audi-climbs-the-skijump video was an audi V8, which is a type 44 chassis (5000, 200 models)
depending on your budget a 1991 200 quattro turbo with the 20v turbo engine (later an S car I believe) might be the ticket.

Yeah, lookin' to keep the cost down on a car that'll be a bit disposable (winter=rust). It'd be so nice to have WRX Sti but already have a car payment!

I recently sold a perfectly driveable 1990 200 quattro, with the 10v turbo motor for about 1350 bucks.
it was actually in rather good condition. Best snow car I ever had, like driving on dry freaking pavement. We'll see if the B6 A4 can hold a candle to it, I doubt it can.

That 10v inline 5 is probably the best engine audi has ever, or will ever produce. Car had 180k on it and ran like a top, even had the original turbo still.

Think my 1.8t will go 180k? Pffft. no.

You should've asked me before you sold it! That's in my price range. $2000 at the MOST.
