did I see you're up and biking again, or was that somebody else I saw. Was from a distance so it was hard to tell.

If its a someTHING, I'll probably laugh too for being dumb enough to hit it. E-braking is very easy and very very very precise. That is, if you're not going to fast for what you want to do. If you misjudge speed, you're an idiot. There's really no excuse for hitting something using the e-brake only. Other than being a moron.

Yeah, but on that smooth-as-glass concrete that is on University right at the entrance between Clifford and Odegard... there is a sudden change from rough concrete to that smooth concrete and I almost scared myself one time. I quickly counter-acted by releasing the e-brake and tapped on the gas to transfer the weight back to where it was supposed to be

For some reason, these tires do not squeel when "peeling out" or turning hard around a corner ...and it's hard to judge the approach of their break-loose threshold. It's sort-of a violent snap... but when I have the snow tires on it's pretty gradual and controlled.

yeah, its still gonna happen someday. Thinking you're a good enough driver to do this crap is absolutely no different than thinking you're a good enough pilot to continue a descent below an MDA. You'll get through it most of the time, but someday its gonna bite you in the ass. I got no problem with people who risk their own lives, but my problem is when people do stupid things that get other people hurt.

I dont know about Jason, but I dont do this around other cars, definetly not around pedestrians(I used to when I was retarded). Only parking lots and streets free of cars and people for me. It'd just be one car, kick yourself in the ass for being stupid, accident.

That one time I did it on University was late at night with other cars. I make it sound like I do it all the time, but in reality it's mustly done during winter in a wide open parking lot at night with absolutely no cars or pedestrians. If I did otherwise it would be completely unsafe! Right UAL?

Well yeah I'll have to admit that last year I drove from walmart to mc vey hall sliding around every corner at a pretty high rate of speed. Traffic was pretty moderate too. Looking back, yes it was damn stupid. I always shudder looking back at that. I cant fathom how the hell I made it.

I dunno. I think you get to a point where you've studied and practiced enough that you can slide safely, even in close quarters. Im not gona get cocky and say Im great. However I KNOW Im far more skilled than most. Still probably not quite the smartest thing in the world to do. In my opinion, there are situations where sliding and driving normally is equally safe.(towards others at least). Sliding from Columbia to University on the snow at 40 mph starting at second street? HELL NO!!!!(wont do that again, I promis) Sliding from University to the chester fritz drive-up? Sure.

I still strive to only slide in wide open streets or parking lots, but sometimes its just fun to do a precision drift within inches of a pole, wall, or other stationary object. Like I said before though, if I screw up, its only gona be a one car accident and me looking like an idiot. Hopefully just to myself.

Maybe someday I'll "grow up" and think differently. Hopefully not.
