Default WARG

Anyone flown the new glass cockpit warriors? I got mx'ed today in the Decathalon for CFI, so we did another lesson and were able to take the WARG for the flight. Its pretty sweet. They fly really nice but I felt like I was spending too much time looking inside instead of outside.

Yup, i've flown two flights in the glass warriors, realy nice setup, though I think its a bit overkill for VFR stuff. The only thing that I didn't like is that when you're in the right seat its harder to get trend information from the "instruments". With the other gauges you just look and see which way the needles are spinning, wheras with the glass you have to figure out whether the numbers are getting bigger or smaller. No big deal, just somethin to get used to. I did get to shoot a back course approach in with it just to see what it was like, makes things a lot easier I think, only problem is that if you hit the "button of death" it will set the course for the localizer in the same direction as if you were doing an ILS. Found that out the hard way when my instructor went to show me something and then I was like "hmmm...why is the course getting farther away and I haven't even intercepted it yet." Again, just something to get used to, would help a bit to study up on the panel instead of just getting in and fying.
