| Hey, this is my first post here... I'm currently doing 222 over the summer, but anyway, I guess I was just wondering a little bit if UND keeps any records of UND grads and where they end up... if now, they really should... anyway.. if you guys know anything that would be appreciated... Max Salzman - former CFI at Tbird and now delivering planes for Cirrus design in Duluth. Katie ? - Cannot remember her name, graduated a couple of years ago and taught at Tbird for a short while and is now teaching ground school at Sun Country. There was another female from UND, red-head, and again I cannot remember her name. She was teaching at Tbird for a very short time and has now gone back to teach at UND. I know, bad with names, but at least I got one. ![]() |

[/ QUOTE ] Monica? I think it is her, she started last August. As for the list, I think once a year they publish the names of instructors that leave UND for different things. There has been a few recent ones I know that are going pretty much everywhere. Pinnacle (5) Skywest (1) AE (2) Cirrus UND (1) Mesaba (2) Horizon (5) There are more, I just haven't heard of them or I don't know them. |

| Many of you seem quite familiar with both FCM and UND... see any major advantages advantange to instructing at either location?? I was thinking the UND route if I could, but instructing in the cities would be nice too! |

I was thinking the UND route if I could, but instructing in the cities would be nice too! [/ QUOTE ] The advantages that I see at FCM is that it is a fairly busy Class D airport. There is a ton of GA traffic as well as the biz jets/charter ops that come and go on a regular basis. There are 3 main FBO's that I know of that train there; Thunderbird, ASI, and GAS. FCM is under the MSP class B airspace so you do get to talk quite a bit with ATC. You will get vectors anywhere within the metro area when practicing approaches unless you request otherwise. There is a great variety of approaches all within a short hop. I am not sure how busy UND gets, but the training at FCM tends to be very cyclical. When the winter months come around people tend to drop off quite a bit as far as students go and then come summertime it really seems to pick up. As for me,. I rather prefer flying in the winter. I can make the plane warmer alot easier than I can cool it off. Now I am not a CFI at Tbird, but this has just been the observations that I have made in the few years I have been there. |

[/ QUOTE ] Seems like it is a lot busier here in the fall/spring semester than it is during the summer which would pretty much make sense at a university training environment. Oh, and as a side note I think I just met NDviaEP coming outta class. Welcome to him and any other new UND JC members. |
