Default URGENT: Flight Labs!

I'm sitting here at the Hilton Garden in Grand Forks -- looking over some of my info that came in the mail, and I realized that my flight lab time slot is scheduled for 6-8:30AM!!!!! My class doesn't even start until 1PM. Anyway...when i went back to the UND Crewlink site it said that my instructor was "HEND" (It was originally "FRIE.") Does anybody know anything about this instuctor? Would it really be worth it to wake up at 6AM for this one??

Also, on the crewlink site it looks like i might be able to drop this flight lab and sign up for a different one. Is it too late to do this -- seeing that classes are going to start on Monday?? Here are the other choices and times (it would be convenient if i could actually do this online)

KCLA PA 28-161 Warrior M-S 06:30 to 09:00 (Launch at 07:00)
MPHI PA 28-161 Warrior M-S 06:30 to 09:00 (Launch at 07:00)
RELL PA 28-161 Warrior M-S 07:00 to 09:30 (Launch at 07:30)
KCLA PA 28-161 Warrior M-S 09:30 to 12:00 (Launch at 10:00)
HENK PA 28-161 Warrior M-S 10:00 to 12:30 (Launch at 10:30)
JOTH PA 28-161 Warrior M-S 11:30 to 14:00 (Launch at 12:00)
MSAN PA 28-161 Warrior M-S 11:30 to 14:00 (Launch at 12:00)
MHOL PA 28-161 Warrior M-S 11:30 to 14:00 (Launch at 12:00)
SOLV PA 28-161 Warrior M-S 12:00 to 14:30 (Launch at 12:30)

It does say "Not eligible" after each one, but i think that is because i have not yet dropped my current one.

I just checked AIMS and HEND is Robert Henderson. Never had him. Of those on the list, the only one I've ever flown with is RELL (Ryan Ellison). He was ok. HENK is Lindsay Henke. She is pretty nice, but I don't know what she's like as an instructor. Her time slot is a lot better than your 0630 launch, unless you really like flying early. I'd probably go with HENK.

Take HENK, she is pretty good. If you still want the early launch with HEND, he is good too.

Oh, and about the "Not elligible" thing on Crewlink...if you are able to register or change your flight lab it should say "Register" even if you already have a flight lab scheduled. Or at least mine does. So check the other registration requirements (GPA, credit requirements, etc) on the top of the page to see why it isn't allowing you to change your lab.

Well...Everything says, "OK" next to all the requirements. I think the reason it says not eligible is because i am currently registered for the other times. It says in red,

"You have already enrolled in this course's ground school or flight lab in another session. Drop the other session's class first, and then enroll in the lab and ground school for this session."

I really don't want to wake up so early!! The only positive thing I can come up with is that the weather would be better?!

I would switch over to HENK, but i think that it might be cutting it a little close with my Avit 102 class -- it starts at 1PM, and the flight lab would end at 12:30. Is this cutting it too close? I don't know if i would even have time for lunch! I guess i could eat after 1 -- if the dining halls are still open. I don't know what I am going to do!

OK...Nevermind the last post. The reason it said, "Not Eligible" is that i had the wrong session selected. It was set to "2nd Six Weeks" instead of "Nine Week." So now...HERE is the new list of open instructors and times. Any suggestions now?

BOTT PA 28-161 Warrior M-S 10:00 to 12:30 (Launch at 10:30) Register
LARR PA 28-161 Warrior M-S 15:00 to 17:30 (Launch at 15:30) Register
WOOD PA 28-161 Warrior M-S 16:00 to 18:30 (Launch at 16:30) Register
MCLA PA 28-161 Warrior M-S 16:00 to 18:30 (Launch at 16:30) Register
SBOD PA 28-161 Warrior M-S 16:30 to 19:00 (Launch at 17:00) Register

BTW...Can I register/make changes up to the last minute?
Would I be at more of a disadvantage flying around 4PM (due to thunderstorm buildup, etc.) versus 6AM??

Take the 10:30 launch. BOTT is a great guy and good instructor. You can't go wrong with him.

Okay..I switched it. But now what? Come Monday, I have my Flight Lab BEFORE my class. Do I need to report anywhere Monday morning to meet with BOTT, or just go to the Avit 102 class? Is he going to contact me beforehand?

I did a mock oral with BOTT (Tony Bottini) back in 102 and he was pretty cool and had a good sense of humor. Since you changed at the last minute I'm not sure if he will call you. You might get his number from the UND directory and give him a call.

Well...I got in contact with Anthony Bottini yesterday. He sounds like a great guy, and I can't wait to get started. We are going to meet tomorrow morning and get some of the TSA stuff out of the way at flight ops. Looks like this is all going to work out fine. Ten minutes untill my first class starts. I gotta get going!
