Good news to UND that the base is not on the closure list. Can you imagine that place with no approach control? MSP centre could never handle all the local IFR there.

[/ QUOTE ] Not sure what they'll do about that, but according to the report, over 2200 of the 2800 or so active duty personnel will leave Grand Forks. |

well given the speed the FAA does things, there may be an approach control up and running by 2010 then.

[/ QUOTE ] yeah, but at least in that case you have one person that is able to see those who feel they dont need to use the CTAF and let you know where they are. |

If they can pick up flocks of birds on the radar (they do give us a heads up of "possible flock of birds" sometimes) I'm sure they can pick up an airplane that isn't sqwaking. |

They were all over |
