Default Prof\'s

Hey everyone, my name is Sterling , i've posted on JC a few times but not in a while , so i thought i'd re-introduce myself. I have been a regular "lurker" though lol. Any who, I’m planning to enter UND as a freshman in the summer session starting June 6th and their are 2 classes for avit 102 one from 8-10 with Zeidlik and a 1-3 with Bjerke and was just wondering who was the better instructor.

Also , another question about Avit 102 , how often do you fly, every day, 2 days out of the 4 , or once a week ?

Thanks in advance

Sterling

I'm sure you're looking for answers specific to your post....though you may find answer to those questions posted and more, if you look at past threads. Everyone has pretty much asked the same questions....

I can't recommend an instructor being that I've only had Beth Bjerke, which I thought was pretty good. Others have had Zeidlik and they've liked him too...

Yes, you will most definitely do lessons five times a week. Some lessons being briefings, while some being sims, and most others, flights.

Sorry if I couldn't be of anymore help.

I had Zeidlik for 102. He's a pretty good instructor, I'd definitely recommend him.

yeah, other than the fact that he thinks he's funny but really isn't. If only Remer taught aviation stuff instead of weather :-D

Not all of Zeidlik's jokes were that bad. At least he kept our attention most the time. I had Bridewell for 221 ground school and I could hardly stay awake. Leslie Martin is a pretty good instructor, I have her for 222 now. Any suggestions for who to take 323 and 324 with?

Oh and I agree, Remer is a great instructor. Too bad I had Pellot (sp?) for ATSC 231, he was really boring, worse than Borho.

Trapnell is tough for 323 but he really knows his stuff and if you suck it up and study you'll walk out of that class confident about aerodynamics

Hey guys,

Thanks for your reply's , sadly I just found out that they wont let me take avit 102 because my SAT is below 1030 and my ACT below 19 , and apparently they dont care about what your GPA is, which sucks. They said that i would have to take avit 101 first in the fall (since its not offered in the summer) then take 102 in the spring. They also said their strict on the SAT/ACT requirement.

So it looks like myself and Chris (CaptainChris87) are out of luck with UND this summer.

If anyone knows any way to get them to waive this requirement, an appeal or anything , i would greately appreciate it.

Thanks

Sterling

AVIT 101 is a class called Survey of Flight. It is mostly for ATC majors and does not lead to a private pilot's certificate like 102. You wouldn't take 101 in the fall and 102 in the spring. You take one or the other based on what your major is. If you are Commerical Aviation, you will take 102. Some ATC majors take 102 instead of 101 so they earn their private. Sorry, don't know anything about the ACT/SAT requirements.

Don't you think you could probably retake the SAT/ACT this semester and try improving your score? I'm pretty sure they would allow you then...but, then again, UND can be gay about that type of stuff.
