Hey...I have been looking at all the information about the upcoming summer session (that I plan on attending), and have a couple of questions. First, I noticed that there are two different summer sessions. One spans June 6 to to August 5, and the other is June 27 to August 5. Are there any big differences between the two besides the length? Does the short one seem rushed? If you were to choose, which one would you do? I think I am aiming for the longer one. I see that there are also three people teaching avit 102 (Zeidlik, Bejerke, and Roesler). Anybody know anything about any of them? Any recommendations? Any comments appreciated. The forum has been dead lately.....maybe everyone is still in frozen from that last deep freeze |

I dont know anything about summer session, but I did have Zeidlik for 102. I liked his class, I'd take another ground school course with him.

I think the longer the better being 102 is a 5 credit class. It's a lot of information to learn in such a short time. I would also take Zeidlik. He's a nice guy and has a sense of humor.

The 9 week summer session is for those starting from scratch. The 6 week session is for those that already have 30+ hours. 9-week session=102 6-week session=105/112 (test course) The difference between both is that the 9 week session is composed of 30 lessons + ground school. The 6 week session is composed of 14 lessons + FAA checkride + ground school. Keep in mind that both sessions take the same exact ground class (102), therefore making the 6 week ground school very compressed and kinda tough. Then again, if you're in the 6 week session, you probably have a considerable amount of knowledge from your previous flight school so it shouldn't be too hard. I came here last summer and did the 9 week session. It used to be 34 lessons, but I think they dropped it down to 30 now. (someone correct me if I'm wrong) Anyway, if you have other questions, post 'em up. edit: Oh yeah, I had ground school w/ Bjerke. She was rather easy. I've heard other people saying that they liked Ziedlick and Roesler but that they didn't like their tests. Bjerke's tests were pretty simple, IMO. You might wanna ask around some more. |

I had Roessler, by far the best ground school instruc I've had so far. Heard good things about the other two as well though, don't think you can really go wrong with any of the choices.
