Hey, I'm most likely going to be attending UND next fall and have a few questions........for one thing, how is life in GFK - aka. over here in SoCal I'm used to having heat waves in the winter and I know ND is going to be completely different from CA..........also, what's the workload like and how hard would you rate most of your classes; and if I was doing the commercial aviation major and possibly air force rotc, do you think I'd have time to do a sport such as x-country...... and finally, what are most of the people over there like and what would you say is your overall impression of UND, in other words would you say it's worth it to go there........thanks!

[ QUOTE ] for one thing, how is life in GFK - aka. over here in SoCal I'm used to having heat waves in the winter and I know ND is going to be completely different from CA.......... [/ QUOTE ] Just take a look at some of the other posts, you can pretty much tell what life is like in Grand Forks. It won't be like SoCal, thats for sure ![]() [ QUOTE ] also, what's the workload like and how hard would you rate most of your classes [/ QUOTE ] Depends which class, and sometimes on the professor, but most classes are o.k. [ QUOTE ] and if I was doing the commercial aviation major and possibly air force rotc, do you think I'd have time to do a sport such as x-country...... [/ QUOTE ] I'm not in ROTC, but my roommate is in Army ROTC and I do know that it does take up some time. Getting up at 5 a.m. in the morning sounds like a lot of fun |

College is so easy. I didnt really study at all starting out and still dont study as much as other people and am pulling off a 3.2 GPA. Could have been higher if I had applied my self right from the get go. I've got it figured out now though. This all also depends on the person too, and I also only took 14 credits this semester. As far as life here goes, I am about bored out of my mind most of the time but you get used to it. Definetly seems like it would be a lot better if I had a girlfriend. So yeah, get one of those before coming. ![]() Tom |

Scroll through the rest of the UND forum, pretty sure just about all of those Qs have been answered at one point or another. UND is about as fun as you want to make it. You can sit on your ass all day and tell people your bored as hell, or you can get off your ass and go do something productive/fun (usually involves some kind of alcoholic beverage) and life around here isn't to bad. Having a girlfriend makes life A LOT better up here. I've been seein someone for the last couple of months and I am definetely a much happier person b/c of it. |

When i visited, they didn't seem too bad (my tour guide was kinda hot).... ie.certainly above Embry-Riddle, but definitely no U.C. Santa Barbara. *completely off topic - Doug, Nov. 30 is a pretty cool day to have a birthday |

But... any other major or program on the main campus has nicer looking girls, but not as many to choose from as you would have in metropolitan cities like New York, Los Angeles, San Diego, Seattle...etc. Girls are cornfed here in Grand Forks! |

[/ QUOTE ] Oooooooooh yeah, gotta love those hot, trendy city girls. What's that again? Passion for fashion, yeeah, haha ![]() But anyway, yeah....ditto on Jace's reply. Some are cute at UND but as I said....they lack that nice girly look, IMO. |

I agree with the top two posts. There are a few out there that are good girls but the rest blow.

Gotta look in the right places boys! Most are below average, but the hot ones are out there. I think if Luc and I could find a couple then the of you guys certainly should be able to. Just keep in mind the "I'm a pilot" crap is the beginning of the end. |

For those that say the women here suck, keep looking. There isn't a shortage of hotties, just have to know how to play, and where to play at. |
