Yeah, it has been kinda quiet in here lately. So whats everybody doing this weekend? Today I'm doing homework then bottling my first batch of homebrew beer (a honey amber autumn ale) and then making my second batch (an Irish oatmeal stout). Then more homewok/reading. Then tomorrow I have a xc planned and have to work tomorrow night.

What's everybody else got going on this weekend?

Went to buck fifties last night, then had some people over at my place. Today study for a bit then have a few beers and watch Ohio State beat the hell out of Wisconsin.

Just got back from flying, other than that really no plans for this weekend. Just passed my commercial written yesterday so I'll probably just sit on my ass the rest of the weekend.

I usually notice the a lot of people view the threads but never post. Oh well. Indeed this forum is like G-Forks.

Hmm...let's see what am I doing this weekend? Not much really...
Bikeriding, bikeriding, frisbeeing, more bikeriding, playing Monopoly tonight since I haven't played it in years...and celebrating 'cause the Yanks beat the gay Minnesota Twins.

I am cooking dinner right now for four. And then eating with my girlfriend, her sister and her boyfriend.

This weekend I have so far had 4 flights, 2 had leads in the plane observing what I do.

Tonight, after dinner, I'll be finishing my binder so I can start teaching multi next week!!

Tomorrow, in the sim with 3 students and going to church.

Angel, did you ever finish 102?

Yeah, I finished it the first week of the fall semester. As of now, I'm not flying after running out of money from that 221 long x-country. Loans, damnit, I've been screwed again by Sallie Mae and UND.

Nothing against you, but I have never had a problem with financial aid. I think you just have to know what to do. I have even found a way to get extra money without being penalized.

But glad you are in 221. Who is your instructor?

The problem is not mine, but mostly the lender's. You can definitely say "you just have to know what to do" if you've dealt with Sallie Mae, which I'm confident you haven't.

My instructor is Jennifer Zawislak.

bleh, financial aid. i when i put kids thru college i'm going to first either win the lottery. if that fails to work out, i'll rob a bank, because financial aid sucks the big one.

today i'm going to eat some mexican food at joe T's, then drive around and waste gas until it's time to catch the mesaba RJ back up to MSP and GFK. anyone wanna pick me up at the airport?

Everyone bitches about financial aid around here. I have yet to have a problem, which leads me to believe that a) people expect way to much with FA b) students are waiting too long to put in their FA requests c) and you have to know the system.

Good luck with getting your money so you can finish up and start 222 in the spring.

A) Because it's there job, and probably because, like you, others "have even found a way to get extra money without being penalized."

b) students are waiting too long to put in their FA requests

[/ QUOTE ]
B) In my case, the problem has nothing to do with time issues.

[ QUOTE ]

c) and you have to know the system.

[/ QUOTE ]
Which implies that you, Lucas, know the system and most don't.

Not to beat a dead horse, BUT, you finished 102 at the beginning of the semester. I know you said it wasn't a time thing, so this will help others.

If you had finished on time (lets say last spring, but I know you weren't here), you would have been signed up for 221 for a few months. So this means, put in your loan application a month early, and the money will be there on time. You can't wait till the beginning of school to do it, of course it will take forever.

I haven't dealt with Sallie Mae, so I woudln't know their problems. All my loans are through the government (distributed by Wells Fargo) or supplemented by commercial loans through Bremer.

My advice, if you can, GO WITH BREMER. They are great.

good luck

I agree, Bremer is hassle free for the most part. I maxed out on aid one semester and all I did was filled out a form in the financial aid office and they gave me more. No big deal.

Anyone going to the tennis match tomorrow? I got some great seats in the lower bowl right at the net.

Usually I don't have any problems with getting financial aid, it's just the students that work at the financial aid office that drive me nuts....

I have to work at the airport tomorrow when Agassi and Roddick are coming in, I'm going to have them sign my balls (tennis balls)

Yeah indeed I am! Unfortunately I have upper deck seats. I got the cheapest tickets at $24. And even then, it kinda hurts haha.

Even if it does, it wont stick, the ground isn't frozen yet. They say it's going to get windy tomorrow. And the temps are susposed to take a dive this weekend.
