Just got off from work at Starbuck's... ugh, 8 hours of throwin' quad-halfcaf-iced-venti-nonfat-nowhip-peppermint-mochas and triple-nonfat-lightwhip-onepumptoffeenut-onepumphazelnut-breve-lattes...man these people in North Dakota are starting to get picky on their drinks! Just like in Cali. I see 3 lurkers in the UND section...come out wherever you are. ...I'm off to a partay... |

Yum Starbucks!! I think it would be fun working at a coffee shop. I work at Resnet on campus and the people that call the help desk are always crabby. Add me to the list of people hanging around this long weekend. I was susposed to fly this morning but of course that didnt happen thanks to the wx. Hey AF, are you taking Avit 221 this semester? If so, hows it going for ya? |

My instructor had to request specail VFR because he's not IFR current. It was pretty fun going through that weather. |

I've only done the first briefing so far, but I'll get started on the flying this upcoming Tuesday provided the WX doesn't get stupid. Things are going cool though. Hope you're doing well. |

There are quite a few MEI instructors at UND that don't have a high performance endorsement

that's ok, i tried to get my high performance this summer in a C182Q out in denver and got weathered not once, but twice. ended up spending 2.0 having some fun, but not really accomplishing anything....still was fun though. so i'm another CFI without a high-perf (roast as you find appropriate, i can take the heat).

You're probably going to cost me about $3.55 after dinner, ya know that? |

My wife isn't happy with just Folgers coffee either. It always has to be the expensive stuff with funny sounding names and cups that aren't called small medium and large.

with a little experimentation, and a strong brew, it's totally possible to make folger's that tastes just as good as starbucks. however, if you make your own brew with starbucks beans, you can make coffee that's out-of-this world. people like the novelty of drinking peppermint-sprinkly-mocharetto-blasty-latte just because the names are hard to say....some of us just like good coffee! you can buy a can of folger's for the price of a starbucks and have coffee for two weeks! too bad i don't know how to make my own frappucino in the summer, though. i must admit that i have a weakness for mocha-frapp when the ambient temp is 90+ or so....mmmm. /soapbox about coffee |

[ QUOTE ] That's so funny, 'cause I hate the way Starbucks calls the cup sizes too. [/ QUOTE ] Yeah I hate calling them out too and I work there! It doesn't make sense to have Tall as the smallest one, Grande as the middle one (should be the tallest!) and Venti designating 20 ounces of a cup size. How about calling the venti cups "Molto Grande" for "Extra Large"??? |

Yeah, I dunno about being a North Dakotan. I'd like to think of it as an, um, temporary relocation. I miss working at Starbucks... it's so different in Seattle than elsewhere. Oh, and here's the scoop on the sizes: Back when Starbucks started the espresso craze in Seattle, there were two sizes and two flavors, short and tall, and vanilla and hazelnut. So if you wonder why tall isn't the "tallest," well there's your answer. So yeah, another boring weekend. Guess I ought to become a partier like Jason |
