Im trynig to get a job at a regional. I have 1200 tt and 200 multi (current IFR and multi), I have no violations, and no problems with my record. The only problem I see is that I'm still in college (online) but on my resume I do say that I will graduate in a year with a GPA of 3.0. Any advice?

I presume you know people at the airlines which you're applying to?

Well I only know a few (3 at 3 different airlines, all gave me an internal rec) and they did give me an internal rec...

My suggestion would be to see if they're actively lobbying to get you an interview or just put the internal reccomendation in the system.

Sometimes it takes having someone on the inside that can call/email/speak to the people making the decisions.

Of course, and that was one of my internal recs. I want to work at CommutAir more then any or ther regional now... The company fits exactilly what I'm looking for in a regional (except for 1 thing pay)....

I have 1600tt and 460 MEL PIC but no call from CommutAir either. I am not currently flying though which might be the issue. My last flight was December 27th.

Well pay is really not to important, about the only place I don't want to work is great lakes but it's not out of the question.... But I think reasonable pay would be around 20,000 a year.

:bang: Pilots, degrading their own profession one person at a time.

Come on man, you are a professional, pay IS important and there is nothing reasonable about 20k a year for any job unless it is part time flipping burgers

Not to pile on but how can someone financially afford living at any standard without having a minimum threshold of pay?

I completely agree but where can I find a job that will pay me what I'm worth? And 20000 from what I'm reading is about the going rate for a first year for..

Don't really have an answer, my post was more directed at your attitude and less your tactics. Not being concerned with pay is wrong in my book, it should be top three things you look for, location, pay, work rules aka quality of life placed in order of importance to you. Atleast that is my approach when looking for a job.

Are you going to be 23 by August 2013? If not, that may be a reason why nobody is calling you back.

I am hoping to just keep current until those rules go into effect and the supply of pilots starts to decline. Winner by default? ;)

Have you looked at Horizon? We're about to start hiring next month for classes in April, May, 2 in June, 2 in July and 1 a month for the remainder of the year (as it currently stands). Starting pay is nearly $30/hour. I was able to live my first year at QX with my own apt, pay all my bills (including a student loan) and have alittle left for strippers and blow.

    C'mon man!
