The REAL reason Purdue is the "best" is simple.

How many schools can you name that have a drink named after them?

Not only that, they actually succeeded in teaching me to fly!

As far as UND, I think they're a state school that happens to have an aviation program. I'm sure a lot of people that live and are originally from North Dakota (yes, they exist!) go there for other degrees than aviation.

    [/ QUOTE ]
In my Air Transportation class, not ONE person (not ONE PERSON) in the class is from North Dakota. It's a class of about 36 people.

    [ QUOTE ]

Right right right, but my point was, of you folks out there on JC, how many of you would've gone to UND if they didn't have an aviation program. Yeah, I realize a lot of the kids from North Dakota are going to go there, but you look at some of these guys moving from SoCal to North Dakota, I think if it were not for the good(great?) aviation program there, they would have NEVER done something that drastic [IMG]

    [/ QUOTE ]
Yes, like I did. I moved from San Diego, CA to UND at the age of 23.

Absolutely. I'm going to Tucson to see us play Arizona in football, and if anyone gives me any crap, I'm just going to say "Listen, I go to a school with the fattest broads around. We have a good football team. You have hot girls and a bad football team. I'd rather be you" [IMG]

Doug, you've surely been to Mill Ave. on a Friday night!!!

Okay, so picture those girls, with whom I was used to hanging out with...

    Then let's move to Indiana:

Seriously, I take a few Purdue-ians to Mill and immediately the response is: "Wow, Chris... I never thought I'd say this, but... you were absolutely right".

/loves the ASU girls. Stay away from Manzanita though! [IMG]

I've stood in line behind Salma Hayek at the LAX terminal five "California Pizza Kitchen" but I'm not sure if that necessarily means that we were 'hanging out' ya know? [IMG]

"I thougt it was the USAF?"

My first flying was the AFROTC FIP (Flight Indroctination Program). We were enrolled in the Purdue private pilot course. I was one of the ones fortunate enough to get a FAA check ride and my license out of it. There was no requirement or guarantee you were going to get a FAA check as a part of the FIP program. If memory serves me right six of us out of the 28 or so got that chance.

So in essence, my FIRST flight instruction and license came from the School of Aviation Technology at Purdue.
