If I had it to do over again, I'd finish my degree on the cheap back at Mississippi State instead of with ERAU. And actually, the girl that gave me the tour at DAB was a computer science major. Spending $10K a semester for a computer science degree was just blowing my mind......

Yay! I finally got kellwolf to agree with me [IMG] I owe you a beer sometime, kiddo.

As far as UND, I think they're a state school that happens to have an aviation program. I'm sure a lot of people that live and are originally from North Dakota (yes, they exist!) go there for other degrees than aviation.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Right right right, but my point was, of you folks out there on JC, how many of you would've gone to UND if they didn't have an aviation program. Yeah, I realize a lot of the kids from North Dakota are going to go there, but you look at some of these guys moving from SoCal to North Dakota, I think if it were not for the good(great?) aviation program there, they would have NEVER done something that drastic [IMG]

How many defensive linemen at Purdue are in the flight program? Makes about as much sense, huh?

    [/ QUOTE ]

Uh... one. So 1.7% of the flight program is on the football team. And 1.7% of the football team is in the flight program... When there's only 60 people (and how many aviation enthusiasts have the build for football anyway?) in the flight program, having 1 football player is a fair demographic, seeing as 59 of 30,000 people from other majors are represented on the team.

You didn't know I had an ace up my sleeve, did ya? [IMG]

Alright, if we're going to be childish, this is my one and only childish post, feel free to delete it mods if deemed not worthy.

They're big enough to get me a girlfriend who wasn't hit by the ugly stick. Not to mention any names or anything.

Enough bickering. If you don't like the thread, don't read it. It's lighthearted, get the heck over yourself.

Any further posts by you in this thread are going to be ignored.

Edit: Mike, you cursed this thread in the early stages [IMG]

Didn't know you were registered on here.

That's fairly obvious and was conceeded a while back. Picking on a football team as bad as Western's though is like beating up the retarded kid in the wheelchair; sure you can do it but does it really make you feel that much better about yourself? I mean seriously, we're ranked 116th out of 117 Div IA football teams, we're pretty bad at what we do.

Lets keep this thread lighthearted, folks. This part of the forum isn't known for being south central......

So don't make it that way, all.

Mike, have you been to Indiana lately? The corn farmers have been doing drive-by hoedowns against the soybean farmers. It's like a really bad West Side Story [IMG]

Wow dude, that was really REALLY harsh. I'm way hotter than anything you'll ever be able to see at purdue so why don't you kiss my way out of your league ass.

BTW I had no beef with you so I don't know why you had to go bring me into this. Not cool.

I would seriously hope that previous comment, looking back at Ford's last post, wasn't an uncalled for personal attack.

If it was, an apology is in order; if not, a clarification would be in order.

In any event, I don't appreciate having to roll down to this part of the forum that was previously quiet, and devote "police patrols" that didn't need to be here before.

Let's keep it civil, people. Second warning.

Yup, that's the posting I'm referring to. Looking at the post a second time, is when I really read what it said.

I agree that was totally rude. What point are you trying to make. Start a post about how superior your flight program is to any other (arrogant), how your football team gets screwed b/c of the conference (stupid), and then make personal attacks on someone that had nothing whatsoever to do with this idiotic thing to start with. I think you have completely made an @$$ of yourself, and in the process drawn negative attention to the program you boast about so much. GROW UP!!!

I have said it four times already, guys, this is just a lighthearted thread. I don't seriously think that Purdue's flight program is better than any other, in all honest, the upper echelon of flight schools are all great, and no one school is dominant. They all have their glory.

That wasn't the point of this post (and I can't believe I have had to say this three times already).

If you read the first post of the thread again, you'll see that it was entirely based in sarcasm (read my previous reply of x% satire, y% farce and z% internet BS), and I was just trying to see if you guys would get overly defensive of your school (and you did) if I presented a 110% completely laughable "proof" as to why my flight school is better.

Think about this.... Is Boston a better city than whereever you live because they have the defending World Series champions? Heck no, it's the same as it was before (well, the people are a little less miserable now). It's laughable that you guys thought that someone could legitimately qualify a flight school by a Division 1 football team. If that was the case, the SEC and Big XII schools wouldn't be so... y'know.

A little light hearted chiding got overblown in proportions. In the first post, my intentions also were to 1) get some activity in the dead board [success of the failure kind!] and 2) find out how many people go to their regularly scheduled saturday flight slot when it coincides with a home football game.

And if you look at all of my replies [save one], I've explained this over and over and over again. I'm being facetious. [IMG]

The thread about "Purdue is better than X school is down a few threads, it's called 'Purdue and the lack of publicity' " Read it for some insight on how a true "My school vs. your school" thread really should go.

Look back at the previous posts in this thread, of all the negativity, I account for about 5% of it, in one reply, and that was it, and I said I wouldn't be responding. I grew up and moved on.

Focus: This thread is about football and flight slots, and for us to have a little pride in our university, not to bash yours (maybe just your football program.[IMG] If you want to turn it into a peeing match, you can PM me.

I must say that was a rather adult response. I'm glad it was all meant in lighthearted fun (but for your own safety you should know better than to insult a girl [IMG] ). You certainly did bring this forum back to life [IMG]

Regardless of whether or not this thread was meant in jest or John was being an ass or the sky just turned purple there was absolutely no excuse to insult me like you did. I've never had any problems whatsoever with you and I'm astounded and pissed as hell that you would make a personal attack on me without any provocation on my part.

You know what I like about Purdue? It's the fact that their forum here on JC is extremely civil, unlike that kindergarten clown act of a DCA forum.

I'm like the Maytag repairman on this forum section.......nothing to moderate. Same with the SIU forum, MTSU, Paris Air, etc.....

    Wonder why that is?

Mike, I think it's safe to say you doomed this thread from the beginning.

The REAL reason Purdue is the "best" is simple.

How many schools can you name that have a drink named after them?

Not only that, they actually succeeded in teaching me to fly!
