They aren't hiring too many CFIs right now, it has slowed down a lot... But I think there is an error on some of their postings, or it's furloughed Mesaba guys coming back to instruct while they look for other jobs or something.

Do you mean the need for CFIs at ATP has slowed down or the supply of CFIs has slowed?

No, the supply certainly hasn't slowed... The need for CFIs has. They are backlogged right now, I ended up getting a job with a different flight school while I was waiting.

Well I guess with all the airlines raising their mins it kind of backed ATP up with CFIs. I assume as current CFIs there get caught up to the new mins movement will pick up a little. But the days are over to do the 90 day program then 90 days as a CFI then to a regional.

Heh, yeah that's long gone.. with higher mins, I expect most everybody going through ATP's program now is going to need at least 1200 hrs for IFR mins or 1500 hrs to go to the airlines.
