Interesting... I have applied to many, and the only school that wouldn't take something was Utah Valley University... They wouldn't accept 2 credits of "University Life 101."

U of Washington will accept most credits from UND, as will all public Oregon schools. Purdue and ERAU will also accept UND's credits... Through my experience of applying to many schools, public and private, most will have accepted my transfer credits just fine. Any general education class transfers very easily, but the aviation classes just transfer as electives (to a non-aviation university.)

Have you transfered from UND to a different school? I'm curious where they wouldn't take your credits.

I have a friend who transfered out of UND, and was given credits for all his UND courses, and additional credits for his flight labs. He actually gained credits transfering out of UND. :dunno:

:yeahthat: Surely you can't be serious...

perhaps he is a shill to dissuade students from running away from UND...

i have a very hard time seeing why ANYONE would go to UND in the current economic climate, and in light of their obvious operational problems right now.

I have no affiliation with UND. Never went there, never will go there. I can only speak for schools in the state of Michigan, my home state, and I know many people who have transferred from out of state and have lost credits doing so, or have had a hard time getting their credits to transfer. Maybe it's more efficient out west.

I agree with your statement about UND's aviation program - I don't see why anyone would want to do that in today's economic climate. However, if someone wants to move to beautiful North Dakota and major in Political Science or Chemistry, why should I try to stop them?

Also, on the Upper Midwest thing. No sarcasm was intended. The Midwest is home to me. I love it here. I'd sooner be hit by a train than move to Texas or California. If you don't like it, that's fine, but others feel differently.

A little to late on that one, I am already here.

Basically to give people more of a picture of where I am and what my aspirations are; I want to be a pilot in the Air Force or Navy. I am currently in AFROTC and they are almost as worthless as UND Aerospace has been so far for me. They only seem to give scholarships to 2 people a semester. I have Minnesota reciprocity so it is not a huge difference between most schools in cost. Even though the "wonderful" savior to financial aid; Janelle Kilgore cannot figure out how to even get me enough aid to pay tuition and board.

I came here with high hopes and dreams, but it seems like everything something is starting to go for the good another setback happens that takes me even farther from my dreams.

I am considering just looking for a Air Guard wing (potentially in Fort Wayne, Indiana or Duluth if they ever have any openings) that has an opening working with fighters and enlisting and getting my school payed for and serving my country at the same time with the hope of getting a pilot slot down the road.

For me if I am not going to major in Aviation, then it is like why did I come to this place. The education in my opinion has been then stellar in the general ed side. It really makes no sense to me to get a degree that is merely a piece of paper with really actually learning anything.

Now that I have explained my situation a little better, any advice would be greatly appreciated.

You're from Niles, MI, right? I'm from Michigan, too.

Most Michiganian's I know consider Michigan is in the "Midwest." I always considered myself as someone who lives in the "Midwest." I always heard about how rude people are in the Midwest, and never quite understood why, because I didn't feel that way about Southwest Michigan.

Well, upon arriving in North Dakota, I found the real "Midwest!" It starts in Wisconsin, and gets worse as you travel west through Minnesota. It's a whole different atmosphere up here, and not for the better. I'd go into much more detail, but I rather not. I'm sure there is enough on this forum to speak for this place.

Yeah I'm from MI. Where in Southwest Michigan are you from?

Also, I can't imagine WI, MN, and ND are all that different from da U.P., eh? I love it up there.

the comments section was viewable. about what i expected. completely ignorant grand forkians ranting about "theyll smoke pot out of it!!" and stuff of that nature.

ive been to many MANY hookah bars around the country and around the world and never ONCE smelled pot being smoked.

pretty sure youd be turned over to the police RIGHT QUICK.

ignorant north dakotans scared of something new/cultural.

    way to go!!
