I changed my comments. I've heard others say when they logged back in their prefs were gone... mine were still there.

Starting to really reconsider my second option and selecting areas like Puerto Rico, US Virgin Islands or Guam in hope of being selected thanks to my "qualified" status...

Yea I haven't heard of anyone on these forums making it to PEPC with a 'qualified' status... unless they had military perference or were going to some obscure location.

(the thing you got going for you is that many Pubnat1s applied to later Pubnats, so these applications might be filled with second/third timers...in other words, few actual applicants)

Does anybody know if the fact that the states are gone when you log back in is a problem? I have put them in 3 times now, and they are never there when I log back in. The notes are but the drop downs say select state again.:panic:

Mine were selected as they were when I updated. This might depend on which browser you are using. I'm using the most current version of Mozilla Firefox (3.0.1)

If you don't know if it's updating, call the FAA. That would be your best bet!

BTW: I've also changed my preferences a few times now as well and they update correctly each time, along with my comments. :)

    Good luck!

This is what I heard, but no hard facts.
    CAE - Staffed
    MYR - 4 open
    CHS - 1 Open
    GSP - Staffed

I think SC just got a wave of trainees so I'm not sure!

It does that for me as well, I don't think it's a problem...

The FEBOTS told me it wasn't a problem :panic:

However, if you change your facility type (enroute/terminal/both), the drop down menus work again... then you can go back to whatever type you wanted and select states again.

So anyone else still waiting? Seems that most of us have their prefs in. Should I be worried? I will probably call later once work slows down here. But I want this done nooooow:banghead: So I can join the crowd with this :nana2::rawk::D

I just got a wealth of knowledge from a manager inside the tower. Decided I would pass it on to all of you.
Picking terminal versus en route is actually a better thing unless you really want to work en route because the tower has more opening than the en routes do.
Also picking high level facilities is only going to hurt yourself,
    1) Theres so much going on its going to take you forever to learn everything, takes almost 2 years longer to become a FPL in lets say Chicago versus Moline.
    2) The burn out rate is VERY high in a high level facility
I was told most places are hiring and also told that the panel is Sep 8th as we all thought!
If its possible try and go to the city where you want to work and talk with the Facility manager let them know of your interest and what the opening look like. Remember its all in who you know!
Also once you submit your preferences it you want to change them you should really call first because once you submit them they can be shown on a referral list from that point on. So know what you want before you submit it.
Just wanted to share this with you. If I can think of more of what I was told I will certainly post it.

I'm in the same boat :( No Geographic Preferences yet.
I think in my case, it maybe beneficial.
At this point, I am rethinking my decision to do this. I start nursing school in 2 weeks, when I finished I wanted to become a nurse anesthetist. I'd make more money and have job security (you get fired if you fail a medical). I really want this, but my vision SUCKS. I am getting LASIKs to even make it to OKC. Are any of you having simular feelings? If so, how are you dealing with them?

Got an email today from HR (after i recieved my letter on monday), and they said that they contracted a company to send out our emails, and they goofed and left out names (i was one of them he said). He said that the new emails will be out this week (already got mine), so hang in there for those of you who haven't gotten theirs yet.
