My roommate at AMS was a Guard guy going UAV, his logic was after being an enlisted SP not allowed to shoot back he'd finally get to put the hurt on the "guys" that tried to kill him.

Now he's going to be a UAV guy who doesn't shoot back, even though the plane is loaded.

He'll be stuck with surveillance missions, now that the ROE has gotten more and more restrictive......

Me being a surfer dude from Hawaii, I didn't know jack before going to UPT. After peeking into a F-4 cockpit a few months prior to leaving....said to myself, "No freaking way I can do this!" Surprised myself.

Keep a positive attitude and you will do fine. UPT was one of my best times in the AF.

    Where did you do UPT?

We'll still have to get together sometime when I get back to TUS.

There is not much out there cept the RV park off the Tom Mix highway. I know you have had a myriad of interesting jobs, being the warden of the Florence prision isn't one of them is it? :)

Good luck man! I'll tell you the same thing I tell everyone else: Save Friday night and all of Saturday for YOU. Sunday morning through walking out the door on Friday afternoon belongs to the AF. Follow that simple routine and you'll have a much smoother transition to the military side of aviation.

and rcwelch I'm slated to fly -130s, but it looks the CSAF and Congress may have something to say about that come FY 13.

Party all the time dude! I was a firefighter for the local county FD in my off time from the inconvenience of UPT during the day.
