I have an interview with SkyWay Airlines in Jan. Can anyone give me some pointers on how to prep for the process? Doug, this might be a good one for you. Anyone currently there, what is the QOL like? How does junior manning work there? What is the upgrade time? IS the company going to be an all jet fleet soon? When they ask what aircraft I want, how should I answer? How is the training process? Is MKE very commutable? Midwest have a hiring agreement with them? How are the overnights? Any work rules that need changing? Thanks!

Here's how I would answer: whichever one I'm assigned. Now, if you do some digging and find out upgrade time is quicker on one than the other, there's your answer.

Cool...your siloette (sp) kinda looked like Doug for a min. But I am confused. You fly 767's for AA but...want to work at Skyway?

I was an intern at AA in '03. This is a new 767 from Boeing going into service with AA. The capt allowed the interns to play with it a little and take pics. There were only 9 of us on board

And hence the plane is being operated under Part 91 rules, so it's all very legal.

So when you say play around, what exactly did you do...?

Play with the CDU, MCP, and radios. They took those planes because they had already made the deal prior to 9/11

I don't think I'd have let this picture get taken if I was the captain. I'm sure the company has specified rules as to who can occupy a control seat. Every company I've worked for has published as much...and it always applied even to functional check flights, repositions, ferry flights, etc. But then again...I'm not a captain.

    Skyway

I'm from Milwaukee and had an interview with Skyway in Aug. The interview is informal and might have a written exam with is probably graded to pass/fail to continue. At least it was in Aug. The HR/Tech for me was 3 on 1. Two Gary's and another guy (sadly I can't remember his name). He was not dressed professionally and I think that was purposeful. He was very friendly, though. The tech was a review of an approach plate. Pretty simple. They're very concerned about whether who they hire can make it through sim school, as the industry has been taking in some very low-time pilots. I didn't make the cut (they were looking to fill 4 slots at the time and had 8 people to look at), probably because I didn't answer every tech question correctly. They didn't give a sim ride, so they didn't know how else to figure us out. Weird.

How'd you like your internship? I'm interning at DFW for AA this semester (tomorrow's my first day, actually). Any words of advice?
