I would disagree with this. Normally I would agree with take the seniority number, but that means little here in RAH land. FOs cannot cross to other FO seats in our current contract. So if you were able to get on early in the Q you could find yourself as a top FO until you decide to upgrade. 145 is the red headed child at CHQ anyways and is worn out. Id go for the Q.

How do you even know the OP is talking about RAH? Could be Trans States and CommutAir job offers.

My response was to the poster who I quoted..."If republic"....
But I think its a safe bet...who else flies both the Q4 and ERJ?

Yes it's a safe conclusion, it would be a rare coincidence if it was two separate companies. I was just prying to see if you knew him personally.

Precisely! It'll land just fine.....but someone needs to taxi to the gate. So, it's nice to get the wakeup callout.

    To the OP.
    Where do you live?
The ERJ is almost all east coast bases and the Q is going to be based in DEN for now. The Q flying is more then likely going to be better.
Getting to the next level is more about what is in your phone book then what is in your logbook so both planes will add the TT to your logbook.

This ^^. Networking means everything in this career. Being that I work at a company that flies the Dash, we have had tons of people get hired other places. Sure you could argue having a little RJ time helps, but flying the Dash in bad weather, and densely populated areas of air traffic will speak volumes for itself.

Corporate places usually don't want to hire regional pilots anyway, so go for the Q.

If its for Republic, definitely the Q. In the Republic CBA an FO can't move from say the jet to another airframe as an FO, they can only upgrade to Captain. So if you get in the ground floor of the Q400 you could be a very very senior Q400 FO until you upgrade.

I will be commuting from CRP for the time being. No plans to move to DEN, but that was my first choice of bases. I know the commute is going to royally suck.

In this case, definitely another vote for the Q. We're getting the Q's to do United flying and those things are also all over IAH. There is a chance ("so, you're sayin' there's a chance!!!") we could open an IAH base as we get these aircraft on the line. At least, that's what all the IAH commuters are sayin. In either case, welcome to RAH.

I wouldn't count on seeing the Q's coming back to IAH. Much better revenue and more efficient to operate the airplane in the bases that they are planning. The Q will be a very good airplane out of DEN to the hot/high Rockies destinations and is perfect for the two northeast corridor cities that you will be having domiciles (EWR and IAD). I cannot speak to DEN, but IAD would be my first choice over the 3 offered just by sheer geography for me. EWR...well, nuff said there it's a craphole...IAD is a very nice airport, and commutable with even an option of taking the DC Flyer to DCA and going thru there. Have fun with the Q and if there is one tidbit...ALT F'ing SEL!!!! oh and "Supplemental Reset" or a way that Bombardier figured out how to get around dispatch reliability problems without re-engineering the airplane and figuring out where all the stray electrons are...

I thought everyone was saying don't go to RAH until they get a contract, no?
