Now with the res switch over to CO's system has anyone been able to jumpseat on UAL? It seems that the agents have no idea how to list you, check you in, or do anything with you. The only time I've been able to do it was once in SFO and it took 10 minutes to have the agent figure out how to list me. I've heard of others being told to call and get listed which was fine under UAL's old system but under their new system they want to charge you $20 for a non-rev listing. Is anyone else having similar issues?

    ...

    Awesome.

I didn't have any trouble on SKW a few days ago, but the agents did have to pause and glance at their cheat cards.

I think they can still do the paper style jumpseat request if they can't figure it out...

Did you just list at the gate? Did they ask you about being listed in advanced?

I just listed at the gate. No problem in IAH or PDX. It shouldn't require a listing in advance.

I have done it once so far and had to use the old school paper jumpseat forms.

Last week none of the agents in IAD knew how, I ended up listing with an outstation agent.

Just list at the gate. UAL agents are having some issues learning the new (old CAL) res system. Try to let the crew know you are trying to catch a ride and you should have no problem. Captains are being encouraged to make the walk to the gate to facilitate jumpseaters. It will get easier as the agents catch on...

Two of my buddies are in YVR right now and are stuck thanks to UAL's res switch over. The agent is telling them that they can't ride as a jumpseater. Yesterday a friend of mine was traveling to HKG and had to go through 5 different agents before one could figure out how to list him. I know people are my company are having a difficult time riding on UAL both domestically and internationally although international seems a little worse. Some agents say that they can't list you and you have to call to get listed which costs $20. My co-workers are refusing to pay $20 for a jumpseat (as they should). Hopefully this mess gets sorted out soon.

Just jumpseated yesterday out of DEN and it took me 40 mins to list myself. The gate agent and the reservation lady on the phone had no idea on what to do. Lucky for me the supervisor on duty showed up and helped me out. I've keep getting the pinball effect that apparently we need to call and when I call they say we need to just go straight to the gate... they need to get their game straight.

Tried to go see a buddy of mine up in DC area two days ago out of MCO. Showed up to the gate and presented my creds to the gate agent. He couldn't figure it out, called over a co-worker who couldn't figure it out. Supervisor came over and still wasn't working. Captain and FO arrive at gate and we begin the formalities. Captain tells me he'll come back and check on me. 5 min to push and I'm still hanging dry along with the UAL Captain(who was very cool), and I gave up. Told them to leave me and I would try something else. Captain was very sorry.

I jumpseated from IAD with no issue, then in DEN the agent didn't know how to do it and kept repeating that I probably wasn't going to get on the flight. Then gave me a seat...

I jumpseat on UA a lot and have only really noticed one problem, otherwise it's business as usual.

I rode on an Express (SKW) flight from LAX to work the other day; no issues. They broke out the paper forms.

I wonder how this is going to work internationally.

I'm trying to get outta Frankfurt! Back in January I remember a pull-down option on COAIR to be listed as a jumpseater, which made light work for the FRAPORT staff at the airport. Now It just wants me to list as a nonrev, to the tune of $120. Here's hoping they know how to do it.

I had issues recently out of LAX on UA with the new CO res system. By the time I went to the 7th gate agent (and almost 2 hours later) I was able to be listed. I barely made the flight.
