    PUBNAT2 Referral List?

    With the deadline now passed to submit geographic preferences when do you think the referral list will be made available for PUBNET2? Hopefully it will be soon and everyone scoring “well qualified” will be included, good luck to everyone!

    It's the step before. Being on a referral list means you've been assigned a facility and will be discussed at the selection panel. That's where they'll decide whether to invite you to a pepc or interview.

    The referal list is what the selection panel will use to select the candidates they want for thier facilities. Since there are only so many spots available, they pick names until they fill all the spots they will be hiring that time around. The lucky ones who get picked will get a PEPC invite to progress futher, while those who don't get picked won't hear anything and have to try again during the next PUBNAT.

    So basically the difference is with the referal list, you are being considered, and with the PEPC invite, you have been selected.

    Being on a referral list doesn't mean you have been selected for a facility yet... it just means you're in the pool of people they'll select from. Not everyone on the referral list will be hired.

    I wonder what determines if you will be on the list?

    I mean...3 years work experience really can mean anything..... i would say that this area is where people dont make the list. There is a difference between being 20 washing cars somewhere for three years...and being 29 and a supervisor at a reatail store...
    I'm sure military service counts for something...
    I would bet a degree helps...
    also geo preference plays into it...

    Does the guy washing cars get on the North Dakota list vs the New York list?....

    I believe referral lists are based on AT-SAT score and the locations you choose in the geo pref email... I don't think anyone looked that deeply into our applications yet to determine whose work experience means more...

    Yeah i agree , I don't think they look at our previous experience, until we are being selected for our certain facility( In other words being compared to other applicants who picked the same geo pref.)

    My friend is a controller and he said they look at your application, its not all about the scores. People with stuff that stands out will most likely get selected. Like an aviation background, i have one, most of us have a good head start from people that don't know anything about ATC.

    No offense, but i don't think that they will even look at the qualified applicants until they run out of well qualified applicants, no matter what your background is. I don't think that they will make it to qualified applicants in Ga and Fl, they may be the most picked out of any.
