I thought the joke was funny enough to walk right into what you just said… I knew that was coming though :)

I do. It has temperature forecast where TAFs don't. I don't check METARs before I go out riding. I check weather.com. Much easier. I have weather.com Grand Forks bookmarked anyway. :p

I thought it was a pretty big waste of time. It didn't flow very well at all and wasn't all that interesting. There was the tail-stall video that everyone sees in aviation meterology and aviation safety, so that wasn't anything new. I like that video though, but all in all, I could have done better things with those 2 hours. :(

I saw that stupid tail-stall video for the 39,024th time in Johnson's 325 class today. You have to endure 22 minutes of cheesy porn music with wah-pedal guitars and 80's synthesizer drum sample beats in the background... the FAA couldn't have picked better royalty free music than that for the video?! :insane:

Today was quite a day, indeed. I'm extremely happy w/ my flying. I think my stick and rudder skills are almost perfected in the Warrior. (I'm not being cocky at all. I have a lot to learn decision-making wise. I'm just a beginner pilot.)
It was turbulent and windy as hell, but my approaches were impeccable. I think my current instructor exploited my abilities. He definitely knows what he's doing and is very competent at teaching the 415 course or any other course for that matter. I am especially happy that my frequency of flights has been once a month or once every other month and don't get rusty at all. :)

My instructor's identifier is NWIL, btw. I HIGHLY recommend him for instrument flying. His experience outside of the UND bubble has been invaluable in my training.

I'm interested in hearing what happened!

Well remember that huge debate MrLeisure was involved in with him logging FARs for the flights he had to go back due to mx. Well today he went in and talked to my ground school teacher to get another opinion at UND. MrLeisure showed my ground school teacher the thread on here where everyone was debating whether or not he could log it.

Somehow my ground school teacher wondered off on this forum and discovered this thread where I told the story of him telling me to shut up.

So today I walk into class. He comes in and hands out the entire class a list of things on how a student should be treated. My ground school teacher then asks me to see him after class. He then continues tell the entire class that it has come to his attention that one of the students here feels he was told to shut up and was called crazy about the observation flights. He agreed that he denyed calling anyone student because he feels it is out of character of him. Then he told the class that sometimes he can go over board by knocking on the student and that his purpose is to get us more involved. He then quoted my signature on this forum saying that to attack this like it is your dream.

I sat there in shock. At the time I thought snickerswa told my ground school teacher about this thread. It made a lot of sense considering snickerswa's brother sits next to me during the class. When I talked to the instructor after class he told me how he found out through mrleisure.

No big deal. I am sure it was unintentionally. Thats just the risk you run in with posting stuff on the internet.

After class I had a long discussion with him. He told me he was going to protect my identity. (I just checked his updated syllabus on his site with observation flights in it. It now says "Thank you Zuko" at the end of it.:() I told him about a lot of stuff. About how I wanted to fly more and how I am considering leaving because of not flying much and lack of customer service. I liked some of what he said. He told me that it really doesnt matter what route I take. Take the one that makes me the most happy and that if I want it badly enough (Which I do) I can get to where I want to be regardless on how I do it. But then he praised the CRJ Program at UND and when I questioned him about it replacing experience from a hiring stand point, he told me he didnt feel like building up time being an instructor did much. That goes against everything I have learned on this forum.

My ground school instructor is a good guy and wants his students to do well. He made a mistake with me and it was totally unintentional. Meanwhile I am frusterated with likely getting around an 89 on the block exam because I didnt know how much our oil in the warriors weighed in pounds. I also mixed up the different between a station and a moment. As well as tricking myself on forward cg vs aft cg. I was using my finger to show what would happen to your nose with a forward cg vs aft cg. Bad move.

Maybe this will be a lesson to you.

Posting stuff on a public forum can bite you in the butt.

Piece of advice, I believe every course requires observations now. I'm sure your ground school instructor for 102 last year required it also.
