Hat in tge ring

More like my wallet in the ring. Just got spammed yet again by one of AOPA's membership schemes. I am a member of AOPA with a few benefits paid for. However, $1000 a year for this "special society" with Morgan Freeman as first honorary chairman? They just lost me. I fly as a profession, im not a million dollar bread winning actor/weekend warrior private pilot expert on aviation. Sometimes AOPA just makes me feel inadequate and unworthy of joining "the ranks" my wallet and paygrade just doesnt fit the bill to put my hat in the ring. Rant terminated.

Anyone else get the free kindling?

I've never had a problem with AOPA. The value of the service I have received has far exceeded my membership fee.

Perhaps you just need to call AOPA and discuss your concerns. 1-800-USA-AOPA.

(and yes, I am tired of them spamming me as well but nobody who is an active member seems to care that their dues dollars are being wasted like that so it's kind of beating a dead horse).

Not downing aopa as i said im a member and value their services juat a rant of this new hat in the ring deal. Dont really get the point? A high rollers club house deal?

I saw the same thing. But I've been too busy flying airplanes to care.

They do the lobbying GA needs, so I pay my dues and honestly could care less about anything else they do.
