When I was working with SWA in Orlando I'd run into Gulfstream pilot's quite abit, either on the employee bus or when they were jumpseating. I'd try to start up a conversation about the airline/job, you know the usual stuff and they would always be pretty short. I always thought it to be kind of funny. Pilots from other carriers like chatauqua (spelling??), comair and even mesa would spend time talking about their flying job. I got the impression that Gulfstream guys were almost embarrassed to be there, like they found out too late. If they would have only read this forum........(just my impression)

If they'd only admit it and warn other potential Gulfstreamers that it's not worth it.

"Don, it is pretty confusing when you quote Vic's posts that are not available for public viewing."

I thought he was saying he doesn't like my method of quoting. I didn't realize you all couldn't see his posts.

About all I've done here as a mod is delete posts. That's a lot of fun but doing to Vic (didn't know that was his name, do you know his last name, too?) will only serve to fullfill his martyr complex, in this case. I only delete posts when people are cussin' at each other.

"I got the impression that Gulfstream guys were almost embarrassed to be there"

Not the ones I've talked to over at flightinfo. They are foaming at the mouth the second you question the place. I mean, all I need to hear is "I just want to succeed and any method I use is okay". You can't argue with that.

Or, in an intelligent, non-confrontative manner, get them to agree to disagree, which might have happened once, a long time ago.

I think, once they hit the real world, they realize why Gulfstream isn't too popular with professional pilots. Whether they see it as a mistake is another thing. The two streamers that frequent this site have both said it was a poor choice and wouldn't do it again. That says something...

    By the way, Skillet rocks...

I agree with the helping people out, and posting the truth on these schools so people can make more informed decisions. But, this can be done WITHOUT pointing the finger at an individual, and posting a link to him, possibly subjecting him to attack.

    Yes.

(edit to add: I don't post real names publicly without permission. Key word "publicly".)

He has posted it, either here or on flightinfo- can't remember which. I'm sure I'm not the only one who made a mental note of it.

You would think someone who acts like such a fool wouldn't publicly give out their name, employer/airport, and drive around a truck with their full name , address, and phone number plastered to the back of it.

    "Yes"

Well, with networking being what it is, and all, it would probably be a good idea if you don't mention it.

The guy has a myspace account. Don't you think he likes people to visit?

I don't know much about myspace. Doesn't he have to approve people on his friends list? Anyhow, if he believes in what he's doing, I'm sure he likes the publicity. Why wouldn't he?

    Professionals don't grandstand.

Individuals that bought a job to satisfy a low level of self-esteem...such as this...do grandstand...waving a flag in the air showing everyone his status.

A professional exudes quiet confidence...humble but capable...carries the big stick softly.

    Be John Wayne...not MC Hammer.

Would a person get sued for defaming and etc if a website imforming people out there about GIA was put up. That way when someone does a search for it on Google, the top link or the one right below it on the search results could be that webpage explaining why it is bad to PFT.

Ladies and Gentlemen, yes it is me, the one who tries to fit in on this online board, Jetcareers, but bagging on Gulfstream...

    Wrong....

When i heard about it, it struck me confused.

Would you pay walmart to work for them, so you could have experience to move onto k-mart? No? Thought so...

This is more directed toward bob loblaw if he was the one that said im trying to fit in...

Bro, if you read my posts or actually pay attention to me, you see i sometimes draw controversy and such.

So, before you start saying stuff about me, really know what i am about..

    :yeahthat:

You see Adam2006, it is much easier to ride a bandwagon instead of fostering your own beliefs. It is easy to do this to someone he doesn't know when opinions are popular. I feel it was a cheap shot, and easy points on this board.

By out of control do you mean giving back to the clique what they give me. You also make me sick. I have had run-ins with you as well. Here is a news flash for you, quoting a thread that is basically invisible is a gutless thing to do. You think I am a martyr in my own mind? WOW, not only can you fly a plane, you are a psychologist as well. UPS must be proud. I would reach back and tell you what I really think of you, but I am not going to waste my time on you.

First of all, in this thread, nobody started anything with you. It was all you, man, in your glorious self.

"Here is a news flash for you, quoting a thread that is basically invisible is a gutless thing to do"

Like I said before, I didn't realize nobody could see that post and secondly, I thought you were just saying you didn't like my style of quoting. Which I'm not going to change, by the way, cause I LIKE it that way. Beyond that, I have no idea what you're talking about. You'll be happy to note, however, that I have now figured out how to unmoderate your posts.

"I would reach back and tell you what I really think of you, but I am not going to waste my time on you."

Please, don't hold back, the more you type the dumber you look. Knock yourself out.

It's not a question of what's popular or not, it's a question of right or wrong. Gulfstream Academy is wrong on so many levels. But using your logic make sure you tell your kids to form their own opinions about drugs and not to listen to what everyone says.
