X2, best way to do it. If you're coming from the south still stay below the bravo, around the lady and then in.

And JFK has an actual fbo now, sheltair opened up this past fall, so there's a full crew lounge with computers now.

hey man haven't talked to you in a while! We are trying to plan it so we don't need fuel, but details are still sketchy. I'm still working the Pilatus gig, so if that comes through I prolly won't be able to do this. We'll see though.

Is VFR even possible to JFK during quiet hours? Did somebody do it? I am flying pretty often under Bravo along the shoreline would be glad to log a landing at famous hub :)

VFR is always possible...whether or not they will give it to you is another thing.

I hope that we can go VFR. I'm slightly terrifed of filing, fearing that we will get direct xyz and hold. Granted I don't mind holding but I don't wanna sit there all night.

Honestly people make too big a deal out of airports like JFK, when they're really not bad. When it's busy and weather rolls in, than you'll have delays (so I wouldn't plan on going in during peak push periods), but I've gone into JFK, dropped off pax and back out in about 30 minutes in the evenings, and that includes taxi time. During peak times even we need slots, but if you go in just do it after rush hour. You'll be fine! And enjoy it! In all honesty I'd rather go to JFK than LGA

Don't forget, if that situation would happen, and you're in clear wx, you can always just cancel and go VFR from that point. Just make sure you know what airspace you're in when you cancel. Also, in my personal experience getting a hold doesn't really happen too often. And it's most likely to happen when the wx sucks. Just don't head for JFK when it's 200 overcast and you should be fine!

    haha awesome!

I was in the ever busy STL B today and it really got me excited for JFK. Now granted it is just STL and they clear you to land on a 10 mile final, but still lol

I always find that hilarious whenever I'm outside the Northeast. I remember going into BTR 2 weeks ago and we were cleared to land like 15 miles out, meanwhile on approach to TEB or HPN they make us wait until we're almost over the numbers haha
