Just looking at a bid pack for January, roughly 30% of the trips in LGA on the 200 are 3 days or less, half of that 30% are high speeds/CDO. Looks like the 900 is a bit better at roughly 40% of the trips being 3 days or less, but again of those less than 3 day trips, a chunk are CDOs.

Sorry to be a Noob but high speeds/CDO meaning quick turns?

Last flight in, first flight out. You're on duty all night with minimum rest.

How often can one get a trip where you end up spending 2 nights or more at some place other than your base?

2 nights as in a 48 hour layover? You won't get that unless there's an IROP (irregular operation due to weather), MX, or something screwy happens with scheduling

Or, you either fly international or work for a company that routinely places a 30+ hour layover somewhere in a 4 day.

We're just regional scum. The only exotic, "international" stuff we do is Canada.

Longer overnights in YYC were you can rent a car and drive into Banff are kinda nice, eh!

Are their rumors that Endeavor will start having ATL as their base by the end of this year?

There are rumors glore at this place, it seems to be everyone's favorite pastime. ATL base with some of Expresjet's 200s is the latest rumor with the rest of the 200s being shuffled out of NYC and more 900 flying there to make NYC only dual class aircraft.

@Finny I guess pilots have to have something to talk about. Having an airline pilot reality show would be amazing ratings on TV because of all the "rumors."

Congrats, welcome aboard. You'll enjoy it here. The training department is top notch and wants you to succeed. Just have a good attitude and do your best. Also bring warm clothes to MSP.

I've seen 30+ hour layovers from time to time, usually arriving in a city on friday night, to operate out first flight sunday. I've seen them in many cities, I even got stuck with an HPN 32 hour. Not a lot of fun, but at least you get min day for the dead day.

Yea I've flown with a few captains that have done that 30 hour HPN. I had a nice 28 hour layover in SAT last week.

I picked up a 27 hour MCO overnight in open time this month. That'll be a nice break from MSP winter!

Is it common for them to split up the class into 2 hotels since they can only fit so many in one? I think from what i gather, we have 34 people in our class.

Holy crap that's a big class. With them running two classes a month now I wouldn't be surprised if they had to do that. I think it was 6ish months ago they had to switch from the hotel shuttles to school buses to get all the new hires to class.

That is insane amount of people. Is them having two classes a month still not enough?
