I'm just finished catching up for the past month or so with entries and I realized how utterly vulnerable that little (well the Jeppesen logbook is sorta huge) book sitting on my desk is. I tried starting logbookpro but gave up about 600 hours in. What does everyone else do for peace of mind short of a safety deposit box?

I did LogbookPro and every month (approximately) I e-mail a copy of the backup file to myself.

My last 8710 if it ever came down to it.

If you are that worried, take a picture of each page with a cellphone/digital camera, and email to yourself.

I keep mine in a safe in the basement. The downside is, I haven't logged a flight in it for nearly 6 months ago...I keep putting it off and now I dread doing it. At least it's safe haha

I think I'm a little OCD about my logbook. I keep my paper one in a fireproof safe. I also have a online copy (flightlogg.in) that I started at about 1500 hrs and that was painful to enter, but I think it's well worth it. I get a backup sent to me every time I update it. On top of that I was taking pictures of my paper logbook, but haven't done so in quite some time.

I have it on my phone (LBP), backed up on an external HD in a fireproof safe, backed up on my server, and on a USB drive not in the house. Paper logbooks also up to date and in a fireproof safe. If that's OCD, I'm ok with that cause I don't worry about losing it!

Just starting out flying myself. Started using Logbook Pro, still on the "evaluation" period. Create a backup that goes into my Dropbox folder for automatic syncing to the web.

Will probably eventually look into keeping a digital copy in a safe as well, in case Dropbox decides to go belly up.

Whatever you do don't leave 'em in the trunk of a car with bad sealing during Florida's rainy season. Try explaining that logbook to the Chief pilot looking at it during an interview. Just saying.

Cant you just make a one time entry in logbook pro for your entire logbook and start from there. You could then just put your paper logbook in a safety deposit box. I don't know how much safety deposit boxes are (my wife works for a bank) but they cant be too expensive for account holders.

photocopy last page every now and then when I think of it. Throw one copy in my home fire box ($30 at Lowe's) and send a copy to my dad who lives in another state.

Sits in a drawer next to my bed. FAA has a copy of my most recent 8710. Good enough for me...

I bought my logbook a handgun. Now he "protects" himself just fine.

If something happened, and my logbook got lost or destroyed, and my last 8710, medical sheet, 135 duty logs, cover sheet, a/c insurance forms, a/c logs, and last and certainly least my word, weren't enough for a prospective employer, I really dont think i want to work there.

    (That's a long, awkward sentence.)
