If it makes you feel better, in the cockpit of the E170 it was bad too. I'd often kill the strobes at night due to the headache the CA was getting.

Sounds like they didn't test it much at night.

Eh, the old style 737s with the logo lights on the wingtips were just as annoying. Spotlight in the face anyone?

The more hours in Embraers I accumulate the more I think that they just don't test a lot of things, period.

That's because they spent almost all of the design time frame trying to meet the launch customer's (US Airways) request to run all the data through one FMS head. Of course that didn't work out, but they sure spent a lot of time trying.

I'll stick with the king airs dark painted nacelle so the pilot doesn't see the beacon.

I liked it. That and the mouse pad to control the screens.

The gear dropping in the 145 is one of the most disturbing noises I have ever heard coming from an airplane.

Sounds like a CFI taking a dump after eating spicy tacos.

I was deadheading on my bird a few days ago. We arrive in Chicago, the passenger ahead of me was chatting with his seat mate:
"I'm sure glad we didnt get stuck with one of those regional jets on this flight. I don't like them"

Also the strobes have a dedicated naca vent for cooling.
    Game. Set. Match.
