@Autothrust Blue , it would be awful if that ended up in a CP's hands
I think there's a huge difference between laughing at someone for being an idiot, and bringing stuff like this to the CP and personally sabotaging careers.
I said it would be "awful"...
and I'm sure a clinical psychologist would find him a good study
I'm certain he was performing his job as PM fully while holding that approved cockpit electronic device up to the window.
"I know you're having a heart attack right before V1, but I can't reach the controls because I'm getting a sweet video!"
Not that it makes a difference as far as legality re: PEDs in critical phases of flight, but I've heard from a friend of mine that lots of aircraft are put together such that you can put a smartphone up there recording video and have it stay without holding it.
Doooode, just wait...fireworks erupt every time I take off!
We call that "pulling a velocipede"
Oh for Christ's fracking sake.
It's all for you
Not touching any of this with a 50' pole.
Honestly, as the PIC, there's no way in hell I'd allow that to happen.
Unless of course I'm doing it!
So funny story. Just flew with a guy who friended me on Facebook. His profile picture was an Air Beachball 747 with terribly photoshopped fireworks behind it. I was going to explain the significance, but when I thought it over I thought it seemed a bit "you had to be there."
Back before smart phones could take videos a...uh...guy I know made a glareshield mount for his point and shoot camera by supergluing a tripod mount to a potato chip bag clip. Worked extremely well!
One of my parent's fav lines "Do as I say, not as I do"
One of those stories that has "well, me and my innernetz friends..."
@Roger Roger recently helped me with one those stories
Haha that had to be fun on your end. I was able to get out of it with the rest of my gang with just "oh I've got a buddy that's a captain at...."
