    Hey there,

Thanks for the reply, it was very informative. I have talked to a few friends from Alabama who say Foley is a nice place to live. You said that Roger could not reach me? My email is asakhran@purdue.edu and my phone number is 765-414-5746. I just have one more question. Do you guys have a prescribed training syllabus or do we teach from our own created one?

    Thanks,

    Ashneil Sakhrani

Also, Roger may have been trying to reach me while I was in class, so email may be the best means of contact.

The students do an online ground school course before they start their flight training. We also do 3 Q&A sessions while they are in the ground school which are about 1hr long each, but thats divided up between 5 instructors once a week so I rarely have to do any Q&As. Plus the older instructors prefer them so we usually let them do it. Most bad weather days we just take off, but company policy is that we cant be at the airport for more than 9 hrs so if there is bad weather in the morning we just cancle the afternoon flights. You pretty much control your schedule... If you want to call your students and tell them to standby in the morning if it looks like bad weather then call them in if it clears up, thats your call. Its really not micromanaged like some places I have worked, as long as you take care of your business you hardly hear from anyone on how to do it.

Thanks, I will pass this on to Roger. We use the Jeppessen syllabus through stage 1. If you pick up a civilian student, its up to you how you handle them.

Thanks for the info. I live about 75 miles north of Foley and have family there. I am also retired from the fire dept at age 46 and will finish my CFI in June. Not looking to go to the airlines, I just want to begin a 2nd career sort of if possible.

Hey I am a newly certificated instructor, are there any dual given requirements? I tried sending my resume to the address given and also the email address on the web page but neither would go through. If the position is still available, please let me know where to send my resume...Thanks

I think we have hired one guy, but we still need at least one more. I suspect positions will be opening here often, so it doesn't hurt to send in a resume when you graduate.

I lived in the area for a short time and have flown out of an airport close to there.

The area isn't bad at all, the beach is nice and it's packed with tourists during the summer (good thing). It's not expensive by any means and there's plenty to do. Mobile and Pensacola are close by with more things to do. Better yet New Orleans is only 4 hours away. The Navy students, from I heard, are all college graduates and are fairly motivated; yes they study, much better than your average off the street student.

I would love to live down there and CFI but right now is not the time.
