Anybody got a Cessna 150 rudder stop kit laying around they want to sell and ship me? PN SK152-24A?

I had one on order to arrive Tuesday and just found out the order was cancelled because they didn't even have the part in stock. My A&P will will be heading out of town so I really need to get him the part this week if possible.

For some reason the price just shot up from $120 to $180 on these stupid parts.

Oh I see now, they updated the AD and changed the stop kit part number to SK152-24B because they changed the length of two rivets....well of course two rivets should cost $60 more I love aviation maintenance.

    All ours went on airplanes,

If all else fails you can placard it spins prohibited and put the poh page in there until you can get one in.

Are you a member of the cessna150152 club? Great info on there, with plenty of places to grab the rudder stop mod part from. What year do you have?

I went ahead and paid Spruce $180 for the updated kit yesterday and got express shipping so my mechanic can get it done before he leaves... I'll just grumble about it for the next two weeks and then I'll get over it :)

OK, spend that big money......we'll need to do a fly in and meet at the Felts Cafe when you're visiting the FSDO. I see my FAA SAFETYTEAM Rep is now in Spokane so I can visit him while I'm there...

Is that Minard? I was at the FAASTeam Winter Weather thing at Felts a couple weeks ago.

Yeah if you make it over let me know, there's a few other Spokane JC'ers, we can see if we can fill up a table at the Felts Cafe.

I know a few mechanics in Spokane. Jay Burdeoux in COE (Northern Sky Air), Justin Beal out of Western Aviation at SFF, and Matt Burrows at DEW. They are all good in their own ways and vary in price. I've done owner assist with all of them to some degree but I also know them. Allowing owner assist can be tough for a mechanic who doesn't know you and I don't blame them. You'd be best off with a small time mechanic who is easy going. I really don't know any small time guys around here. Know one in Cashmere but that's a bit far. I know a guy with a 150 at COE who's an A and P but I don't think he really works on anyone else's plane. Also, believe it or not, check Craigslist Spokane for a guy looking to trade A and P work for flight time. Who do you use now?

Jay went out of business and I dont think he's around the area anymore. My normal guy is Kevin, he's an IA who used to work with Jay and worked at Empire Airlines for a while before that, he's also a Moody guy, he's awesome, very detailed and makes sure everything is by the book, but he works with me and I have his trust... but he'll be gone for a month unfortunately. If I cannot find someone to fill the gap I'll just wait for him to come back, not a big deal, just have to adjust my schedule a bit.

Kevin is a great kid. Say hi for me. I'm the guy with the Apache he worked on. Didn't know about Jay though but I'm a little not surprised. His overhead on the hangar would have been hard to keep up with. Saddens me to hear as he's a good friend I've lost touch with. Does Kevin have the hangar now?

Justin Beal is a little airplane IA and big airplane 121 FAA designated inspector at Empire. He moonlights at Western at Felts. It wouldn't be cheap, necessarily, but I'm not sure what kind of labor you'd be looking at. I mean, if it's a small job (low labor number), you could pop in, talk to him, get a quote, and feel him out on the owner assist. He's a really good guy and he did my last annual. I tried doing owner assist but realized me and him spent way too much time chatting and I might be sort of getting in his way in the overall scheme of things. If you are interested, PM me for his email.

Poor Jay. Could you ask Kevin if he has a current email or phone number for him? Or, do you have Kevin's email? PM me.

Burrows is really good! He fixed 8BS for David when it got bridged plugs at DEW yesterday.

I could get a hold of our guy that works on the King Air.

Thanks for the recommendations guys. I think I might have found someone to get it done.

Kevin is one of my best friends, I'll be sure to him know you said hi. The last number I had for Jay was his cell but he stopped answering that, and I imagine has changed it now. Kevin doesn't have the hangar, someone else bought it and has started to fix it up, it was getting a little run down. I'm not sure what his long-term plans are for it.

Maybe, I've got to work, but depending upon what I have scheduled I might be able to sneak away for a bit.
