But my toe nails are ugly. I don't paint my finger nails, just the toes.

I'm trying to get ready for my 135 training & checkride with Flight Safety next month (they're going to teach me how to sit in the right seat of a Metroliner without touching anything) and no one has stopped foaming at the mouth long enough to answer my original question: How do you prepare? Many people said I wasted my money getting my CMEIL at Flight Safety so I've heard all this before. As I've mentioned before, I'm a career changer. A stupid person would not have all this "money to waste". I've done my research: unlike many of the kids posting. As for the person that called my wife an idiot (she owns a law firm)...you should be ashamed.

I'm assuming I will never get any advice on 135 training because most of you are still reading Teen magazine. Thanks anyway.

Well how boring is that? Good thing I'm not married to you. You would make me wear socks with my sandals in the summer just so you didn't have to look at my ugly unpainted toe nails.

O.k., so I'm a slow typer and didn't realize we've all moved on. Beer. Now that's something we can all enjoy debating. But, what's there to debate? It's all good.

Oh, and TheWife, my wife (AnotherWife) says red. Always red. Very classic.

Ooh, I need some testosterone after just typing that for her.

I'd help but I've only done 135 training and checkride locally (twin Cessna's), so my experience wouldn't be any help, probably.

BTW, I like your sense of humor.
This place does double duty as a medical forum: i.e. checking a person's skin thickness.

Hey, I don't paint my toe nails to impress any guys. I do it cause I don't want to look at my toes nails. Just like I have hair on my head cause I really don't want to look at my scalp. But hey, if you aren't in to toe nail polish we can talk about something else. You choose:

    Shoes
    Romantic Getaways
    Babies
    Brad Pitt
    Chocolate

Ok, now that I've vented on the whole P** thing, I'm ready to really stir things up: I like Michelob Ultra. I can hear the guns cocking on this one [IMG]

Okay, I lied...this is really my last post on the subject. A 135 checkride is really no different than a 121 ride. Same stuff is usually covered. Non-precision/precision approaches with an emphasis on single engine work. Everything to ATP standards. Bone up on 135 regs, AIM material concerning pattern work and holding procedures. Op specs concerning company do's and don'ts. Weather ops...can you go? Do you need an alternate? What designates as an alternate? Min weather for t/o? Stuff like that.

If you have a Metro system manual, start studying it! If you don't have it get "A turbine pilot's manual". You can probably find it on Amazon.com or maybe your local book store. Great book in explaining turbine aircraft systems and operation. An oral test is probably involved during the checkout and will probably cover systems and op specs.

Got any Metro III questions (stop locks, SRL computers, blue light special)...I still remember a little even though it's been 16 years since flying one. Great pilot airplane! Big airplane systems and fast!

BTW, Bud light..draft and frosty cold!

Skip the beer, get me a good Cabernet, and if we're suggesting topics for the ladies, I say lingerie. The classy stuff, not anything from Streetwalkers-R-Us.

[/ QUOTE ] Yah, we need to girly this place up. So much talk about airplanes and stuff. Rather boring if you ask me. So lingerie is what you want to talk about? Ok, if you had the money, would you buy the Victoria Secret $11 Million Bra or would that just be a waste of money? [IMG]

    Aloft

"it is supremely arrogant of you to offer your opinions as gospel or even being representative of a majority of your colleagues--many of whom engaged in PFE, PFT and even dreaded PFJ schemes themselves"

Excuse me, so now you're telling me many of my colleagues have done PFT. And you base this on your years of experience as a professional pilot? or what? How the hell do you know the number of pilots at UPS that are from Gulfstream? I've met one in 13 years.

Well...I'd approach it like anything else. I'm getting ready for 757 school in mid-March. I already read the systems manual once and have pumped folks that have been through the program for info. I'd try to get as much intel on the program as you can...what's important and what might not be. You damn well better be a sharp IFR pilot and know the system. Have you ever flown the sim? Find out if you can get some free time in the sim somehow. Maybe get to know the sim techs who work on the stuff at night and see if you could buy them a case of beers to play during the off hours while they are doing their "work". Get into the memory items with limitations and checklists...know them inside and out. Find out who's going to give the checkride and find out what his pet peeves are.
