Looking for Part 135 Sale...

I have a friend that is looking to purchase a Part 135 certificate that is already established. This may seem like a long-shot but, if anyone has any information about any companies willing to sell, then IT WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED!

Basically what his friend is looking for is a person or company that already has an Air Carrier Certificate and Part 135 Ops Specs that is willing to sell the "papers". Often times when a charter operation goes belly up, they sell off the certificate as part of the liquidation process. Others just get tired of dealing with the FAA and get out of the game while they're ahead. It is perfectly legal to sell your charter certificate to another person so that they may modify it (through the proper steps) to fit their business model. Things like changing the aircraft or company staff members that are listed in the Ops Specs can be as simple as submitting the request to the FAA and then going through the appropriate inspections and approval.

. . .and I believed that was what you're referring. I was discussing this with a co-worker who was negotiating the same process. Let me check and see who he was dealing with on this matter.
