Not sure why you want them, but if it's for prepping for a 121 ground school, I would hold off. Each place teaches stuff differently. No sense in having to unlearn stuff later on.

Your airline will give you this stuff when they hire you. No need to buy anything.

| Every airline teaches it differently. If you can get ahold of training materials from your company, do it. Don't use another airline's stuff, though, because it may not (actually probably won't) be what your company wants you to focus on. If you're a CFI with no experience in turbine airplanes, try the Turbine Pilot's Flight Manual--it will give you a good basic understanding of systems on larger airplanes. If you want this stuff for a "CRJ Standardization Course"--I wouldn't worry about it either, because I doubt a place is going to fail you after you give them a crapload of money. |

Ditto all the above. I had a friends' stuff from MAPD when I started at PCL, and I think it hurt more than it helped. It's actually kinda weird how different the flows, checklists, call outs and procedures are for different airlines on the same equipment. If you decide to study the stuff beforehand, there's a VERY good chance you'll have to un-learn it later on. That can be harder than learning it in the first place.

Here is a CRJ systems site I found. Seems like general stuff so it should'nt mess you up when you do your groundschool. http://www.crj2.com/start.html |

Hey look, I'm not all that smart and am a poor student. I have a poor track record when it comes to study habits. I had a C average in college. And I still learned everything my airline needed me to know at their pace in their ground school. This was all without spending a penny on any jet transition course or any study materials whatsoever. All I did was read The Turbine Pilot's Flight Manual (mentioned above) beforehand so I had some idea of how a jet aircraft worked. Save your money. Or on the other hand, pay a current FO at your regional of choice to be your personal interview prep and systems tutor. It would go to a good cause. |

What everybody else said. Don't waste your money on one of those silly jet transition courses either.

Heh. One of the sim instructors here was in my re-current class and told me this story from a LOFT he was doing: Starry Eyed new guy - "Dude! 25,000 ft. We've never been this high before!" Sim instructor - "Dude! You're 33 feet off the ground."

I guess Crew Sked didn't get the memo that I'm no longer a line pilot, they've been calling to encourage me to pick up open time next month on my days off. YEAH RIGHT!
