You want to know what really makes the BoseX headset? Get those soft cloth earseal covers that they sell at every pilot shop, slip em over the bose leather ear-seals (the covers are big, so they overlap over the earpiece), and the combination makes for the most comfortable headset you can use in a loud airplane.

Just FYI for those of you looking to buy his headset.

Virtually all ANR headsets tell you NOT to use those covers as they make a poor seal for the earcup, which is necessary for good noise cancellation.

I tried those soft covers ONCE on my DC H10-13XLs and the ANR performance went down the tubes.

How do you like the 10-13XL model? Is it basically the 10-13.4 with ENC?

Yeah, only with a different mike boom. I love it. As I've said several times here, if I'd have bought the Bose and then tried the DCs, I'd have been pissed. As it worked out, I tried the Bose after buying the DCs, then did a little happy dance over the cash I saved.

Excellent. I've got one on the way. Tried the X11's - and they were amazing...until you put sunglasses on. Then they were not the way they should be.

I love the normal 13.4's - and can't wait for the ENC addition. With the tight fit of the 13.4's, I'm guessing the 13X's won't have the bleed problem the X11's had.

I had the exact same problem. Sent them back....got the Bose X, and I couldn't be happier with them.

For whatever reason, they did not negatively affect the noise cancelling performance of my headset. But I see what you mean, nevertheless.
