Selling Bose Headset X

I bought it recently, and after using it for a few weeks, I don't think it's worth the money. It's a great headset and all, it's just I'd rather have the money for other things.

It has about 20-30 hours on it. Asking $850. I'll even pay shipping.

the only problem is that its been about 2 months, so no 30-day-no-questions-asked-refund for me...

I've used the Bose X in the CRJ and the Learjet 31/35. I think it is the finest headset ever made. I only WISH that they had such a product when I was younger and flying the Jetstream 3100 (man were those garretts loud). Maybe i'd still have good hearing...

I'd give up my Bose X when they pry it from my cold, dead, hands... or when they come out with the next generation.

Well, its about 6 times more expensive than my DC's and nowhere near 6 times the quality.

The last two times I've flown, I've used my old DC's, which are not as quiet, but I think are a little more comfortable. My head/ears hurt a little after each flight, which I was hoping would go away once I got the Bose. Also, on my last flight with the bose, the batteries died after only 20-30 hours, which was not fun. Without the ANR, you might as well have nothing on.

Honestly, I'm only like 10% happier with the Bose, which isn't worth the grand I paid. The reason I'm selling these for only $850 is because I don't have the warranty card or any other papers... Also, the price is negotiable. If anyone wants to trade for a pair of X11's, I'm interested as well...

Quality or Durability?

You think the DC is more comfortable? Which model DC are you using? You should be getting 40 hours on those batteries.

Steer clear of the X11's.

And tell me where I can get a set of DC's for $165...elaborate.

My old DC's were the 13.4's. If I were to sell them on ebay they'd fetch actually a little less than $165, thats where I came up with that number.

I have been keeping track of the hours I get on mine and I am cosistently getting 75 hours with energizers and 80 plus with duracell. agreed thought that you don't wanna lose the anr and have no spare batts

Silly question, but are all of these ANR headsets battery powered or are there ANY out there that do not rely on battery power to provide ANR (such as a panel powered setup?)

Silly question I know, but just wondering. I just hear too many horror stories of the ANR going out, and even with extra batteries. . .it being an issue.

Yes, but my understanding is that those are hard wired to the panel, so you can't switch from plane to plane.

Most are hard wired through a proprietary connection, for example the David Clark or Bose options for panel powered.

There are exceptions, for example the Telex 850 is powered off the standard headset connection. That is the one that I know of off the top of my head.

The telex stratus 50-d that I happen to have for sale.....uses batteries but also has a cig lighter power cable so you can move it from airplane to airplane. Never run out of batteries although the headset has good passive NR anyways. You can see the cig lighter power cable in my avatar
