Can I use this airport as an alternate if the filing as alt. sx. is blank? I'm guessing no. It also says NA under the categories. The airport (KDLS The Dalles, Oregon) has a VOR approach and no tower. Since it's non-precision why can't I use it as an alt. if the wx. if forecast to be standard mins. 800ft./2 miles? thanks

If there's no tower, is there other WX reporting capability such as AWOS/ASOS? [121/135 ops] |

On the upper left corner of the chart, the triangle "A" with "N/A" next to it means the airport is not usable as an alternate. In this case, since there is an ASOS, it is unusable because the facility is unmonitored.
