| Junior Member | Not sure this is the right forum for this, but... Commuting home on a Saab for the first time today, I noticed that there were oxygen "ports" overhead but no doors for a mask to drop out. Sure enough, the safety card shows a flight attendant handing you a plastic bag with a mask inside. You're supposed to tear open the bag and secure the mask it to the overhead port. Is this really how it works? Does the flight attendant have a portable bottle or O2 generator or something to walk around with? Even the Beech 1900 had masks, and there was no room for them in that thing. Any insight on this? |

| I've been in many Saabs, never have I even seen a flight attendant, nor do I understand the need for an O2 mask? Are we driving through the alps or something?

And, yes, there are no dropdown O2s masks on the Saab, hence a maximum altitude of 25,000 per FARs. The O2 system has a distributed manifold throughout the passenger cabin in which to plug in O2 masks, but when you're cruising around at 15,000 ft.... well, you won't need them. | |

| 10% rule. We only have 4 masks to hand out. As previously stated thats why it is limited to fl250.

| Senior Member | Pretty much. To add to that, I can think of just about zero situations where I'd even consider turning on the passenger oxygen system in the Saab...
