Default New to the Forum, be 1900C questions

hey all,

i'm new to the forum, and looking for a bit of help...

I just got offered a job (flying the 1900c) and ground starts on tuesday. I'm not a turbine guy, I don't have any turbine time at all actually, and frankly, I'm a little intimidated about this work. What i'd really like to know is what I need to know, which limitations, which things are going to be really important in ground school. Do I need to know limitations on ITT, torque, temp, N1? what is important, cuz I've no real idea.

Pay attention in class and study. They will provide you with all the limitations and memory items that you need to know. The 1900 isn't that hard of an airplane to figure out and a great entry level turbine aircraft. Don't stress it, enjoy it!

You'll need to memorize loads and loads of #'s - pick up some blank 3 x 5's for flashcards. (everything you mentioned) Don't sweat it though, they really will teach you what you need to know. The 1900 is a great airplane. Be prepared for alot of self-study each night and if there are a bunch of people in class make sure you form study groups. Indoc is usually easier - expect the "drinking from the firehose" effect in systems.

- what everyone else said and when they do provide you with class materials-

Limitations, flows, profiles, limitations, flows, profiles over and over until you can recite and perform in your sleep. Knowing that stuff cold will make life soooo much easier. If you get an engine failure in the middle of trying to remember a profile, well you can imagine!

Study hard!

Are you starting in the right seat?
