I'm trying to help a friend who is not very computer literate do a bit of research. She is looking for history, specifications, and general information on Cessna 170's that came stock from the factory with Franklin 165 horsepower engines. She's particularly interested in what years they were produced and how many of them were sold. She wrote to Cessna but hasn't heard back after waiting several weeks. I did some quick research and couldn't find anything about Franklin engines being put into 170's, but she's certain it was a factory option at some point in time. Anybody know where this info might be located? Thanks in advance. |

Thanks for the quick reply! However, the only mention of Franklin engines is the STC available for a 220 hp Franklin. Does this confirm that there was never a factory option for a Franklin 165 hp engine to be put in? |

You might check the Cessna Owners' Society. If you do a web search I'm sure you'll find them. Guys there are a world of wealth of information.
