| Senior Member | I saw a question on an interview gouge... On a Cat I ILS some airports have an 1800 RVR requirement while others have 2400 RVR. If the RVR is OTS on both, the visibility requirement is 1/2 mile. Why the difference between 1800 and 2400? Edit: Found my answer, but I'm not tellin'....

| The RVR drops to 1800 if you have the TDZ and CL. edit: meant tdz lights and centerline lights. Last edited by doubleo6point9; January 2nd, 2006 at 14:10. |

I think you need CL lights for 1800RVR. If RVR is out, Vis goes up to 1/2 mile because it's not as precisely measured as RVR. | |
