In reguards to 121 checkride the training department uses terms like: Lead Base Grace What do these mean? I think grace refers to grace month, 1 month before and after the due month. |

I'll use myself as an example. I finished sim training in January, so Jan is my base month. I could do recurrent sim in Dec, Jan, or Feb and keep Jan as my base month.

OK that sounds right. That takes care of: Base Grace But what does Lead mean? |

[ QUOTE ] OK that sounds right. That takes care of: Base Grace But what does Lead mean? [/ QUOTE ] Just going off of intuition.... LEAD probably means you would lead it by one month.... for example, if his base month is January, then he would lead it by a month and go to recurrent in December. Just a SWAG though (scientific wild a$$ guess) |

*bump* Ok.... now I'm into the same worksheets.. any further insights into this topic? Lead is month before recurrent is due, base is month recurrent is due, and grace is the month after? Thanks!

now here's a funny question i always had.. let's say your base month is indeed January, and your employer schedules your recurrent checkride to occur on Feb 28th... (Part 135 guys understand this),but on the day of the checkride you win the lottery and quit your employer. IS the flying you did through the month of February in any type fo jeopardy? I imagine not, but I always wondered..

I don't see why, since the grace month is part of the regs and you're protected for February.
