Hi There, Does anyone know the cone of confusion/ cone of silence formula regading antenna transmission. I know this is technical but it's for the European ATPL, and it's overly stupid. Thanks to anyone who can let me know the formula!!! |

I found the formula, no thanks to google!!! Just in case anyone ever needs this formula for a European JAA ATPL theory exam it is: Cone of Conf. Max dist in nm= 2 x tan 50 x (Aircraft Alt. in ft/6076ft) I think a typical value for a cone of confusion max distance is about 7nm. The JAA normally puts these problems on the radio nav. exam, hope this helps. |
