I keep seeing interview questions on a PDP (Precision Descent Point perhaps), but cannot find it in the AIM or on Jepp Plates. How does this differ from a VDP?

Planned descent point....more of an enroute thing. When doyou start down to cross this fix at such an airspeed???

Usually multiply the number of feet to lose in thousands by three and that wil give you the number of miles out to begin (neglecing speed adjustments)
