Default Telex ANR 150 Clicking Noises...

Hello;

I have a newer Telex ANR 150 with electronic noise canceling . Everytime I fly (A C 172) the headset makes this annoying clicking sound as if it were transmitting... All on the intercom can hear it. I've been in different planes and it does it in every plane with just myheadset.. .Anyone know what this is? (yes i made sure it was pushed in all of the way )

thanks

awacs

A few ideas come to mind:

1. Batteries not seated
2. Broken/frayed wire making an intermittent connection

I'd call Telex, they know what they are doing and should have some insight. Try to get the headset exchanged if it's still in warranty.

send that sucker back....my lightspeed ANR was making all kinds of weird noises so I returned it and got a DC 13X...no problems now!

Does the field you fly out of have radar? For some reason, that caused the lightspeed headsets to make a loud chirping sound when you got close. Maybe the telex is the same way.

Same result here with Lightspeed. The chirps became thumps when taxiing by the radar at Richmond, and were painful enough that I just turned off the ANR until just before takeoff. Almost as bad here in Las Vegas. Combined with some other electronic issues I have had, I don't like my Lightspeeds anymore. They won't replace them-they just keep sending out replacement parts.

If I had this all to do over again I would buy the Bose!

Well, I'm spending the same anyway...

$500 for the Lightspeeds
~$300-500 for a set of DCs or something to wear in the ERJ

=$800-1000 = Bose

I like the DC 13X better than the Bose anyway...the DC's are much quieter in my opinion...especially when the batteries die!!

I think I am out of the return period for the re-seller.. Do you guys know if iI send it in to Telex, will they send me a replacement immediatly or will I have to wait for them to fix it?? I also don't think its the radar, it is just the sound as if you were transmitting for a about a second then it goes silent, then a few seconds later it does it again. Like I said earlier, I don't understand why others here the noise though.

thanks
